In my world, a large crazy purple man from space decided that the universe is overpopulated and he needed to use some really powerful rocks to make half of everyone disappear. That was in 2019. I'm from 2024. I'm told from my more-space-faring friends that other planets might have had it even worse than us, but I haven't seen it for myself.
