We have a way to evacuate the Hivawei.

[ The most important news first. The thing that can't wait. Then, on to detail. ]

Remi d'Arbes has answered our call. With his help, we'll create a path between worlds in search of a suitable planet for the Hivawei to settle. Our course will be set for Gyeonje - unless anyone has a suggestion for a place better suited - with the hope that in making our way to that world we'll find one closer, freeing up those of us based here to open more doorways for the Hivawei to travel through.

[ There's a truth between the lines there, but he doesn't drag it out. It doesn't change what they have to do. ]

We need to be as certain as we can be that the world we lead them to is somewhere they're going to have a real chance to thrive. If anyone thinks they'd be suited to making that kind of assessment and would be willing to abandon the search for the orb to assist with this, let us know as soon as possible.

If there's anyone not already involved who wields magic, or similarly esoteric [ shout out to Itachi for the verbiage ] power, and could spare some time - we'd be glad of you.

[ That's it, their plan and the help they're seeking with it laid out. There's a quiet from Stephen, thoughts ticking over for anything else he needs to add... which there is. One last thing, before they get so ahead of themselves that they forget what this is really going to be. ]

This will not be a small feat. If and when Chief Yerek decides it's time to tell the people, they'll be managing the logistics of a mass evacuation while preparing to leave behind everything they've ever known.

We've all experienced their kindness and the strength of their community. Let's honor that and ease the way for them as much as we possibly can.

If you need it, I can easily reconfigure the ship Yzak and I have been working on to ferry the Hivawei between settlements!

We know from past experience that Degar's magic alters our physiology to survive on our missions when necessary — the Hivawei will not have that luxury.

（ 'we were fish once'. it's a whole thing. but there is also no way of knowing if he's been doing in in subtler ways all along, adapting them for variable gravity, oxygen levels and the like as needed. ）

@mccoy, do you happen to know if James took tricorder scans in Gyeongje?

I was not yet present, so I cannot speak to its suitability, but regardless of how welcoming the people may or may not be, I would prefer we avoid dooming the Hivawei to a crueler end than the asteroid.

I’ve got data for Gyeongje still. A crazy amount of it, after we had to figure out the cure for the super gnarly virus that turned a bunch of people into monsters; I studied the unholy shit out of that world’s ecosystem and atmosphere and common infectious diseases. If these people’re on board and you need a guy to verify a planet’s compatibility, I’m yours for the rest of the trip.

I'm going to be blunt. My experience with relocation of large amounts of refuges has rarely been positive.

That said, and if you are willing to see the benefit of having a 'skeptic' involved in the scouting, I would like to offer that experience and my skills to the effort. I don't have magic or any talent like that, and I recognize we're on a tight deadline.

You really think you can evacuate an entire planet's worth of people in the amount of time we have left here?

[Excuse him, he sounds very skeptical. He's never seen an evacuation of an entire planet on such sort notice work. In his experience, it just tends to end in panic and trouble...and the inevitable anyway.]

I have a jetpack, so I can help transport people who aren't able to move very easily. And I've got a special bag from my teacher — it can carry a ton inside it. More than it looks on the outside. So any supplies they need, I can help them get it where it needs to go with way less effort.

It's not as much as some of the others can do, but I figure the more the merrier.

Has Chief Yerek been informed about our progress? The sooner the Hivawei can start preparing, the better.

As someone who will be assisting in creating this portal — [ which she is approaching with big I Guess energy ] — any information that could be provided about Gyeongje in advance would be useful, if there are orbers in a position to share it.

The summoning is easier when one can envision their desired destination as much as possible, and that world was not a mission I was present for.

Ah, this is wonderful news, and something we can assure the Chief and the rest of the leaders is possible.

I'm unfamiliar with this planet Gyeongje but while those with that knowledge are busy at work handling the logistics of the move itself, I'm sure there is plenty the rest of us can do.

I have a power that allows me to sense the life around me. It's more complicated, but that's the basics. I've been to Gyeonje and am familiar with it, just in case things have changed since we've last been there, but I can help find more options for relocation, too.

Where do you need me?

i'll need someone to keep me informed, so i can break the orb free once we've evacuated who we can.

I have nearly a decade of working experience in assessing the habitability of a planet for colonization, and in evacuating refugees and safely resettling them on a new world.

I said this earlier, but for the benefit of everyone, I have a data sheet prepared- ( and a link available, ready for download ) -of the requirements the Hivawei need to survive, and what we're lookin' for.

Viveca mentioned this system has other inhabited planets as well. We ought to start there.

Alright, guys! I got the data, and it's looking promising. Granted, I can't speak for other planets, so there might be something more suitable in the in-between to study, but time is of the blah blah blah. After comparing my notes, I've determined that the climate and environments are similar enough to Hivawei that they shouldn't have to worry about weather shifts, or temperature differences, all the usual beats.

Lots of forested area. The single thing to keep in mind is that everything there is larger; they'll need to account for any potential threat in terms of predators. But there's evidence to support adaptation to any of the natural illness that might be present on Gyeongje; basically, they're not gonna keel over from a common cold or other more extreme disease or virus.

If anyone wants copies of my stuff, I can transmit it through the earpiece, and by all means make sure it's verified by other sources within the team, too, if we've got it. But I'm pleased to say I'm hella confident in these findings. Our biggest hurdle would be getting some counsel with Gyeongje's head honchos and informing our buddies on this planet of the potential threats that they'd have to adapt to. If they're game to try, I'm game to do whatever else people need from me.

I can take point in going through portals into unknown worlds. There's nothing on the other side of any location that will kill me in a way that matters. [ she's lost track of who at this point is aware of her healing and who isn't. she doesn't want to injure herself for the mushrooms, but there are orbers she'd rather not see hurt in this whole thing. ]

Apparently I come highly recommended. Just ask Itachi. [ that's what he gets. ]

If there are sentient lives on whatever fucking planet ends up being the plan here, I assume we all know they need to be warned about the influx of refugees. This kind of sudden mass movement is chaotic at the best of times, even without fucking magic.

[ Ade has wanted to save the Hivawei since they got here. It's kept him up at night and gnawed at him every waking moment. This news should overjoy him.

Instead, the idea of resettling an entire population of people on a new planet, overseen by a majority of single-minded humans, makes his stomach flip. He's seen how this goes in his own universe and he's not keen on repeating it. ]

Wait, wait, what about this planet Gyeonje? Is it already inhabited? What about the ecosystem there?
