Ah, hi, everyone. My name's Kaidan Alenko, if we haven't met before. This is something I've been thinking about for a while now. I've already offered this to a few of you, but there may be more I haven't met yet or just recently arrived.

Back home, I taught kids who had special abilities. Biotics, specifically. And with all the people I've met with special abilities, I thought I could offer to help train and teach. I'm not going to claim to be an expert on all the weird shit you can do, but I'll do my best. I was thinking we use the simulation room so we can use our powers in a safe and controlled environment. Just let me know if you're interested.

And if you're wondering, yeah, I do weird shit too. [And just to prove it, he puts on his barrier so he's glowing blue]

It'll depend on your current skill level. We can start with lifting objects in the air and holding them in place for a certain time, or throwing them across the room as hard as you can. And we'll take breaks to rest and get our energy back as often as you need.

Once you're feeling more confident, we can move on to speed and accuracy.

[ It's almost sharp, but not quiet. Just a little defiant, because she's used to having to convince adults. She debates a little, seems unsure. Then, softly: ]

You have to promise. Not to get angry.

[ A promise is a thing you're not allowed to break. And Eleven isn't going to tell him - what she can do, how strong she is. Not yet, that's not for him to know. But if she's only strong at home, but not compared to him - she needs to know she will not be punished. ]

May I ask what the blue glow accomplishes?

It acts as a barrier. It blocks attacks and keeps me protected.

In training, is your hope to improve their concentration and focus?

（ it's a sound plan — even lacking direct familiarity, those two things are often the key to control. if he can assist or collaborate, he will. but the word biotic means nothing to him beyond its common definition — something of or pertaining to living things. ）

Yes, but also just general practice. If they're newer to their powers, I want to help the feel comfortable using them. If they want to try something new, I want to help work on that. And of course just being around other people who can do unusual things helps a lot. I know it did for me when I was a kid.

I am in control of my abilities and therefore am not a priority case, but I would be interested in seeing if there is anything I might learn from your methods, if you're willing.

[ oh right, the building was falling apart. she was concerned, but not for herself on that front. ]

The magic and powers stuff is pretty new. I'll think about it.

Biotics? Not exactly sure on that but. You saying there was like a school or something? I taught myself alchemy for a bit before I took lessons from my Teacher. Practice, getting to know what each other can do is a good idea though.

There's Grissom Academy. They focused on math, science, and liberal arts, but there's also the Ascension Program for biotics. I have a friend who's a teacher there. I taught a spec-ops biotics division for the military.

I'm going to guess alchemy is pretty involving where you're from. We can certainly work out something for you to practice.

Military then. Yeah, I am too. Back home.

But, alchemy takes years of study and all but. I've had plenty of practice, been studying since I was a kid reading the books our dad left in his study. It's not that involved for me at least, not anymore. I just clap my hands and it's like my body is the transmutation circle, the array and I write the formula in my head to transmute. Basically, analysing what something is made of, breaking it down and then reconstructing it. Like, say I have iron. I can make cutlery with that, I could make a weapon, a sword if I wanted. Or jewelry or something.

That sounds amazing. So it's heavily leaning toward science and math? You probably would've done well in Grissom back in my world.

Do you have any size limits on the things you create? Does it drain your energy?

[chrysology]

More science but yeah there's maths involved. Conservation of mass and all, gotta make sure you don't try making something without enough base material to work with. That sort of thing.

As far as the size, well, that depends on how much material there is. It doesn't drain me though. That's usually more me getting tired and achy with bad weather given the prosthetics. And the fighting usually ends up with me getting hurt a lot.

What's your stance on telekinesis?

It's one of the things I'm capable of doing, so I guess my stance is that it's very useful.

I have some abilities that I'm only just now getting a handle on and telekinesis is part of it. My focus isn't good enough to really use it at all yet, but I can't control what I can already do.

I'm already getting help for the more mental parts of my abilities. [ The telepathy bits. ] This is the one I'm most worried about right now.

Gaining control of your abilities is definitely a good first step. Your telekinesis will work differently from mine but I'll help you as best I can, if you're interested.
