Out of curiosity, does anyone here feel the need to celebrate any non-Earth based holidays?
I guess most of you lot seem to be from the worst-named-planet-ever, because ever since I arrived, it feels like all I've heard about are various Earth holidays and Earth traditions. Each of which makes less sense than the previous one, by the way.
I don't celebrate any holidays, necessarily. But it seems to me to be a bit one-sided. If anyone else has any suggestions, you should speak up.

I don't know any because I've never been off Earth before this station but hey the more you know. Besides, everyone loves adding new holidays to the list where I'm from. Christmas is relatively newly adopted in our culture but the Westerners have been celebrating it for centuries. I think it's changed a lot over the years and means different things to different cultures if that's why you're so confused about it.
What's one of your favorite holidays? Even if you don't celebrate them really, you gotta have a favorite one that sounds less confusing than our ridiculous Earth ones, eh? Or...maybe you could make one of your own. What would you want to celebrate?

So even among Earth, different holidays are celebrated depending on where you live? That sounds... tolerant.
[ The Empire forces their holidays on even the planets that don't have the same day or year cycle. ]
Most of the "officially recognized" holidays in my galaxy originate out of Coruscant, which is a planet I've largely tried to avoid, but... I do like the Festival of Stars. It's a week long fete between the ninth and tenth months of the Coruscanti year, celebrating interstellar travel. Though, one downside is that it's a popular time to take a vacation to another planet, so hyperspace lanes can get kind of crowded during those five days.

That sounds pretty cool, actually. It must be interesting traveling all around the galaxy like that. I'd want to celebrate it, too. [a beat] But I guess traffic jams are universal, ne? Bummer.

[ It's a bit of an understatement, when some of those traffic jams are caused by Imperial blockades that are likely to get a smuggling vessel like the Falcon impounded or worse. ]
If Christmas isn't something deeply rooted in your culture, what is? What other celebrations do you have?
