Following up on Stargirl's question, here's the answer. The Embera are edible, taste like burnt chicken, kind of chewy— not much different from how reptiles usually do. That's not on itself the biggest revelation tho. Remember how they're warned about their fire-hot venom? How lethal they are?

It's just plain wrong. These sad noodles don't even have venom sacks or anything of that sort! Their bite is just that, a bite. Also, I'm pretty sure I don't have any secret resistances to poison, I'm as a regular human as I can get.

So here is a helpful guide for yer own snake dinner: Burn down something and bait them with ash, they'll slither over. They're pretty docile, but they will bite and stab if threatened, so it's better to hunt them from at least a little distance. Right, it's their tail that's their main weapon, there's a sharp blade-like bone at the end of it.

If ya wanna hints on how to prepare them on yer own in a variety of ways, just ask Zhao. Snake on the stick is possibly the easiest, tho. Making a snake soup could feed more people at once. Tho we can't all just gather for one big picnic, that could blow our cover— still, we got a few done, and ready, just let us know where you are and we can arrange a snack delivery.

—I can't stop wondering why they have such a bad reputation among the locals. If they experience Embera's bites like they describe them, then— everything is just making less and less sense.

I'd gladly share if I had any. I've never heard of mirin before, it's some sort of sauce?

[ So it's Peter. They really didn't think this through because the conversation is only going to make them more hungry for real food. ]

I like eating fish but cooking it not so much at first, because cleaning them is gross. But salmon it's easy and it tastes great, so it's a fan favorite. I know that Takoyaki is made with octopus but I'm not familiar with yakiniku. Hmmm...so true.

And now I'm craving tacos, because those re also delicious and I haven't had them in forever.

Mirin is actually rice wine, but it's used for food seasonin' [ Of course you can get drunk with it too, you can get drunk with anything containing alcohol, as every young delinquent below drinking age can attest. ] Salmon is great, but tuna is the queen for me. Aside for the tentacled friend, yeah.

[ If it comes from the sea, Majima will most likely eat it, that's a sad truth. At least he got tiny stomach and gets full quickly ]

If by some miracle ya do get yer hand on these wonders, please leave a bite for me. I've never had tacos— [ He lets out a sigh that turns into a prolonged whine ] Lets find that orb and get out of here. And then riot if Viv-chan refuses to treat us.

Sounds tasty. If we don't have any back at the station, we could try to request it with the net supply drop. [ Assuming they're successful with the mission, one day, and they have the chance to go back to the station at all.

Peter has gotten drunk with all sorts of shit back in his younger days as well. Figuring out what sort of alien drinks didn't immediately kill a human was also a pain in the ass, but it gave him an iron stomach. ]

Tuna is very good too, and it's silly, but I like the color. Did you know that you can eat spicy tuna tacos with onions? We should try making some in the future.

[ Peter's stomach is starting to rumble with hunger, so this is truly not helping. ]

[ They made that bed, and so now they're going to sleep in it, metaphorically. Images and memories of food galore— truly you do realize the true worth of something only once it's gone. Or at least, temporarily unavailable.

Putting wishes and dreams aside, there is work to be done. And the faster they succeed the faster they can make the imagination a reality ]

[ They played themselves for sure. Peter always values food, because he loves to eat, but it's true that he does it even more now that most dishes aren't available. Peter grins at the date comments and nods enthusiastically. ]
