Majima here, long time no see— [ Or hear, or text ] Turns out our connection doesn't work over different worlds, eh? Pretty sure I've been the only one to land in the land of livin', at least until now.
[ There's a big end of the world battle going on, just outside the city, and it's quite a sight, but he can't help but feel relieved, even if their work hasn't ended yet. ]
If any of ya flyin' up there and battlin' need a breather, or medical attention feel free to land there— [ insert coordinates for a roof close to the wall ] It's marked with colorful flags, hard to mistake for anyone else. If ya get to meet one of the locals there, they'll be as helpful as they can just be nice to them, alright
[ He sighs and for a moment looks very, very tired— but the business expression is right back a second later. ]
I'm just gonna quickly run down what I had learned, in case it might be useful. The afterlife ya got sent to, Taeum and Sedorum— apparently it's been talked about only for around one hundred years. The religion itself, is a lot older than that, and plenty of the customs, like monetary compensation to make yer soul shine brighter, that's been around for ages. But the exact specifics of what happens after ya kick the bucket? Only a century since the three-eyed priest spilled that info to everyone. He went at it for around 5 years then boom, disappeared right after the sermon at High Temple
Can't say whether it means the whole afterlife exists in this form only for one hundred years or was it kept a secret for a reason— if that's the latter, it would make the priest significant

So far the armies are stayin' away from the city. Are ya somewhere up there, on the sky?
no subject
I'm actually staying behind to help the citizens. We'll have to catch up when we get back to the station.
no subject
[ Staying behind to help civilians? Yep, sounds like Kaidan. But it's also— worrying. Majima's in the dark about what occurred in the afterlife, and the fact that some of its inhabitants are here— the hell is going on out there? ]
Good luck, in yer hero job out there, sounds like ya got yer hands full. Make sure to get back and follow up with that sound plan of yers. We gotta hit a bar, or a trainin' room, or whatever else unexpected waits for us there.

Yer a real problem-solver ain'tcha?

I do what I can. And I figure with everything going on, they're not going to miss a few bottles.

He was worried about you, you know. Feel free to tease him about it.
no subject
Or I won't and will just enjoy the idea that people missed me. Cherish the warm and fuzzy feelin'

Fair enough. Let's catch up when we get back to the station, all right? It's been a while.

[as he listens, he frowns to himself.] This three-eyed priest, did they say anything else about him? There is someone here who at least matches the basic description and serves a god here.
no subject
[ There's a pause as Majima gathers his thoughts trying to remember every detail. ]
He showed up a hundred years ago, and was the one who spread all that knowledge about what happens after death. No pictures are left of him, only transcriptions of sermons and accounts of visits to different temples. It all lasted for around five years, and then he made his flashy exit.
no subject
That is suspicious indeed. Did they maintain his name?
no subject
[ Small sigh. At least it might have been of use, a lead, something to look more into if— if not for the apocalypse ]
What were ya up to?
no subject
If they noted the three eyes, I assume this was not a common feature of those you encountered? [that's something to note.]
I had been working to understand the rebellion lead by Entr'i here.. we had learned that He and V'rizz meant to betray her, though they encouraged her efforts.
no subject
If that V'rizz serves a god, that makes him already kind of a priest, no? I am woefully out of the loop tho. Unless you want recommendations on where to eat in the city. Or where to find a doctor

It's chaos down here. But at least they got their crisis management secured well. Bet that keeps them a good seat in the afterlife too, if they can't pay their way into it.

I was stuck in Sedorum, kinda like hell. Familiar territory, really. I grew up in places like that city while traveling the galaxy.
no subject
Guess it taught me that the more the merrier— better land in Hell together with the team, rather than get stranded. Especially if it's familiar to spots ya know. Curiosity killed the cat.
no subject
Hard agree, man.
no subject
Kaidan already offered to procure local afterlife drinks, ya take care of movies, and I'll take care of snacks. Sounds like a perfect plan.
no subject
Deal. We ca also finally have some of that food we talked about a few months ago. I need to cook you some fish.

[ Majima doesn't need to do anything, Peter doesn't expect anything in return. They can be just two friends chilling and having dinner and drinks together. The company is compensation enough for him. ]
no subject
Fish is full of high-quality protein, filled with vitamins, and low on fat. And I ain't sayin' that because I love my fishes 'cuz they are delicious!
[ Fingerguns, smiles, then— back to some seriousness ]
How are things in Sedorum goin'?
no subject
Heh. Oh yeah, totally not a biased party, telling me about the benefits of fish. I like it too, so you are preaching to the choir.
[ Peter laughs at the finger guns, lets out a long sigh, and then sobers up a bit. ]
Long story short? Tits up. There are a lot of people here, and we need to make sure that, no matter what happens, innocent people aren't injured. But we're working on it.
We got out of worse situations, didn't we? We will figure out something.
no subject
Does it mean that the whole heaven vs hell duking it out wasn't part of the original plan? [ oops ] At least we got stories to tell the grandchildren, that they won't believe anyway.
So far most of the civilians keep away, plenty did hide and I heard some evacuations going down on the streets. Makes the job easier.
no subject
I think it's been some time in the making, but despite that, it's still a war. Innocent people are going to suffer either way, no matter how much you prepare for it. Oh, yeah, for sure. I already had plenty of weird stories to tell before ending here, though it comes with living and traveling the galaxy for 30 years.
But being in literal hell sure is new. It's not like I didn't expect to end up here at some point.
[ He is not mad or worried, Peter knew this was inevitable. ]
Good, that's good.
