Okaaaay, scooby gang. How about you put all your big brainy heads together and start giving each other the scoop?
Because you guys have been running around like crazy, so I figure I'd be... useful and make a group huddle here over the network.
....
I don't usually do group projects, soooo. Have... at it.
Go team, or whatever.
... And also, I don't think Luna's involved at all. I mean, chances were low anyway, but I've been with her a lot and she's really not giving off any suspicious vibes. Her brother Oden might? But he didn't really do anything that weird when I followed him and Luna. Okay, he did say something about having 'an agreement' with Jove and that 'Jove was alone in his idea'. And then he told her not to worry, that she'll get her part of her inheritance when she's of age.
As for the night of the murder, Luna said she had gone to sleep first. That the railroad tracks kept her awake, and when she went to Helios and Terra's door and knocked to try and hang out with them, they weren't answering. Maybe not even there, since I can't imagine why they'd just totally ignore her...
[She scratches the back of her head.]
She's gonna be teaching me some card games later, so. You're all on your own tonight. But I'll keep an eye out to make sure nothing else comes up that might be useful.
[After a deep sigh, she adds — some minutes later, to avoid too many ears and eyes:]
... My dream for the future is to have a long life with my sister. That we can come back to a town that gives us a chance at really living. That my family could be — fixed by the orbs, so maybe we could just... be happy. Just for once.
There. Personal goal accomplished. I hope.
[OOC: FEEL FREE TO INFO-DUMP and threadhop!!! I'm just your handy dandy vessel to do the clue-sharing.]

There's also cameras in the dining, luggage, and entertainment cars. I tried looking around for the footage of the dining car, but no luck. It's probably somewhere in the staff only cars in the front of the train.
[ And Finn's not about that breaking and entering life! He's a changed man! ]
Jove was apparently a successful businessman, too, but something's been going on lately. Some sale went under or something like that. Some people in housekeeping think it might have been an upset business partner that did it.
Oh, and, uh... no one knows anything about the orb. They'll look at you weird if you ask.
voice;
Wait, whoa - he's having business issues? Because Peter said he should have scars, but the body Sabriel saw didn't have any. You don't think he... like... really did go full scooby doo and fake his death to avoid legal trouble or something, do you?

Good luck getting any information out of Oden. Minimus Ambus and I approached him before all this murder business and he didn't give us much information, only that they're supposed to pick up some artifacts their mother found which will be returned to the museum. When we tried pressing him for more, he pulled the "how dare you talk to me about business, my mother just died," card. Rude.

I don't know how much time I have to talk, so I'll try to be brief. The detective just left to talk to Clara, and I'm on my own now, locked in a room but not handcuffed. This is what I have gathered so far:
Prison sucks, no big news, I know. I wanted to go to the fancy train cars and try the frozen treats, someone grab some of those for me, please.
An anonymous jackass passenger claims to have seen what happened the night of the murder. They came to the Captain with Clara and my name scribbled on a piece of paper. I'm pretty sure Pinot also believe this is pure bullshit, but If you figure out who it was, I'd like to have words with them.
[ With his fists. Betrayal has always been a sore point for Peter, you see. ]
Before our asses landed in jail, when we were still at the train station, I overheard the Day family talking among themselves. And guys, is Terra salty and insensitive. Apparently, Jove was in some sort of accident as a kid that left him covered with scars. His sister teased him about wearing gloves and a whole suit, said he should be over it already. What an a-hole.
Some siblings were closer than others and knew each other better, Terra gave Helios a birthday watch, but Luna, the little one, said she never got any presents. It's just not something they did as a habit, or so says uuuh the blue one with the fancy suit. Marshal. That one.
Oh, oh, their mother died in an accident while on an archaeology site! Now, I am not saying that perhaps it has to do with the orb but....perhaps it has to do with the orb. Unless she uncovered something like the Ark of the covenant. Could you imagine? Let's better not. I like my face un-melted.
The parents didn't spend much time with any of their kids, so I don't think they favored one over the other. There's still some beef between them, Terra even accused Jove of being benevolent and sentimental when he tried to help his other sister with their luggage, so...lady, please chill for a second. Jove paid her accusations no mind, like he either didn't care or was too used to them. Or maybe he had no idea what was she talking about.
Oden, the green one, has a husband and kids, and Marshall just got married, but I don't know if that would help us any.
And so far, that's it!
[ That wasn't brief at all, Peter. ]
Do you think that Tom Selek knows Detective Pinot raids his wardrobe...?

Maybe someone healed him? It's either that or the body of a different person.

Text.
Someone's got to take his mantle for outer space.
And anyway, this family has to have something to do with the orb, right? It's possible the orb's right under our nose, since — I mean, I feel like we would've just shown up in the city if it were actually in the city. Like we did Braccia or Badrock or the castle.
We didn't have to travel this long to get to the orb.
Soooo...
no subject
I think so. There have been a lot of strange coincidences and fishy business surrounding them. And you are right, all this much traveling is weird.
Maybe their mother found the orb? Or did someone kill her to get it? There must be some sort of connection.

This is great, good job! [ and then, just as brightly, ] I've found out that the green-and-yellow ice pop tastes like charred watermelon, and that people here don't really have pirates like we do at home!
[ ............. in other words, they've found nothing. ]

Thanks...
If it makes you feel a little better, we definitely have pirates back home.

My best guess is that he was ambushed by more than one person- that could explain the defensive wounds on only one hand and the lack of any struggle or sound. The wounds seem to have started messy, but became neater- and there were six of them.
There were also letters... and one was clearly made in imitation of the other. They both claimed to be from Hortensia Day, and said much the same thing. Aside from some familial comments- regretting that she wasn't a better mother, saying they'd be fine as long as they had each other- there were also instructions to return her last discovery to the museum and collect the reward, and beneath her name, a series of numbers and letters.

Except I'm not sure what it means- some sort of code, perhaps?

Like, um. Right 16, left 14, right 11?

Because Peter said she died in a work-related incident.
Either she was mortally wounded and had enough time to write these letters or it wasn't an accident.
Or none of those letters were written by her.

I saw her talking with someone. There wasn't anything that stood out about him except for the metallic glint on his red skin. I had to go the long way around so I wouldn't be caught following Goldie, and didn't catch their conversation. I'd say they were talking for maybe five or seven minutes.
And, ah, one more thing. It was pretty warm weather and Goldie was wearing long sleeves. It could have just been a fashion choice, but I thought I'd mention it.
text, un: blue
Two Day family suitcases were successfully searched, but the results are unclear. One is Marshall's, the other is Goldie's.
The letter was something of strong interest, however we were unable to find a way to open it safely - it appears to work under some unfamiliar technology.
Daisy said the empty pocket in Marshall's luggage appears to be designed to hold a knife.
We did not find a knife.
no subject
But we should try to find the knife that fits in that sheath. The murder weapon was taken from the scene, so we should try to find it- hopefully, it wasn't tossed out the window.
