Video; UN: Newton | (takes place during the player plot log; read that first!)

... Ugh — could some of you do me a favor and not blow up my phone while I'm busy?

All these months aboard the Ximilia, you've all really been a pain in the ass. Nosy, clingy judgmental pains in my backend; ooooh, I've been waiting for the right time to try this kind of chaos on for size. Did you know how hard it was to pretend to give a damn about the messy bunch of you? These last few days have been especially egregious. Gotta admit, some of you, I almost felt a little bad for. Not you, Peter — can't fucking stand you. It's too bad my aim wasn't as good as it should've been back in Giva, but what can ya do? Pfft, and don't get me started on the Doctor. How many idiots does it take to murder a guy?

[They tug on Newton's slightly crooked tie, yanking it off and flinging it away.]

Oof, much better.

You know what would be even better? Getting rid of you guys at long last. What better way to get even for the ways you've all treated me like a joke all this time? Little disorganized, intolerable Newton Geiszler — the poor, loud, mentally unwell bastard. Mmmyeah, he can be a bastard in plenty of other ways.

Like this one!

[They hold up a switch, flicking it — there's a small quake through the train as the back cars are decoupled and left to slowly fade into the distant railroad. There goes a few orbers and civilians, left to scratch their heads in mortified confusion. Newton looks absolutely tickled by the fact.]

Oooo, love that! This is so fun; you all should try this bad guy schtick more often.

Anyway, have fun, sorry if you end up mauled to death. I'd say it's not personal, but it kind of is. Sooo... bye!

[OOC: A network post to go along with the player plot! Feel free to use this as a way to threadjack/hop around with each other regarding what's happening in the log! Newton will reply to people here as well, though the threads may be a bit brief. The explosion that occurs here aligns with the opt-out prompt in the player log, as it happens at the same time! Here's the main log for all your player plot log needs, as well as the mod's conclusion post! Read those first to know what the hell is going on!]

[Hard to know how much of this to believe, but Newton has definitely gotten more erratic over the last few months, hasn't he? Something about medication, Hermann had said, but he hasn't seen Hermann lately to ask more and now he really wishes he'd pushed harder rather than letting Hermann deflect.

There's a lot of noise in the background of the transmission, both from the rattle of the train and the chaos that has begun to unfold. Rosinante has tried to keep up with the network, but with all of the "why are you doing this" and "what happened to you," one question so far hasn't been asked:]

Why now?
callada: (that's not going well)

[Unfortunately, that's actually a good reason. Damn. Aside from the fact that there's no good reason to do any of this, but if Newton found the orb and decided to offer it something, then that's explanation enough.

The plan then becomes to keep him talking. Keep him distracted, from doing more harm until they can get the situation sorted out better.]

You know what happens to people who just want destruction, though, right? They tend to get consumed by it. That orb isn't exactly on your side, it's on its own. What did you promise it?
callada: (why are you making this awkward)

I know the feeling of wanting to start over from scratch. It's not easy. But this isn't really wiping a slate clean, it's you making a whole lot of enemies out of people who'd rather give you a hand. Even if you and that creature manage to kill everyone here, you really think Viveca and Commander Degar won't wind up gathering people to hunt you down? You'll never be free.

[Right. Well, hopefully everyone on their side is listening to this villain monologue.]

You want the whole station? What for? What the hell's the end goal here?
callada: (my insurance doesn't cover that)

Careful, you might convince me to make it my business.

[He's not really feeling this threat right now, not in the face of a huge train-occupying alien monster and his own newly-small and powerless self, but he'll damned well try if he can. There are people here he needs to protect, after all.]
