[A little fumbling, a few signal cuts in and out, and eventually he has a connection. Finn wasn’t really a tech savvy guy; most of the phones and computers in his time were cobbled together from pre-war remnants, retro looking affairs with 8-bit display and limited functions. The earpiece was a little out of his league, and his manages it with the finesse of an 87 year old man.]
Hey. Oh, hey I think I got it. [He smiles, looked pleased with his accomplishment. He was settled into his new room, already showing serious signs of habitation, with his belongings strewn across the bed behind him in some kind of rudimentary inventory. Or maybe just a mess.]
So I’ve been having a look around this place, and it’s…big. And sort of empty? [He bites into something with an audible crunch, chewing thoughtfully for a moment.] I know there’s missions or something we’re supposed to do eventually, but…well, what do ya’ll do for fun in the meantime? [Sitting around and waiting wasn’t really Finn’s style, and without some kind of direction he was already starting to get a little stir crazy.
He takes another bite of…whatever that was, continuing through a mouthful of food.]
Okay, also, I was scoping out the kitch, and is there like, someone in charge of that? Are there special hours or something? Because all I could find was this. [He holds up…well, it’s a potato. A raw potato.]
Also, [There’s more.] I was originally holding this bed for someone, but…I don’t think he’s here. [He shrugs, looking a little let down, a hint of embarrassment creeping into his expression as his speech speeds up.] I’ve never had my own room before, and it's kinda cool, but it’s also…really quiet, and I’m not like, scared or anything, but if anyone wanted to share a room or….needed a roomie. I mean, no presh. I’m also pretty comfortable here.
[There was a rushed, rambling cadence to the last part. He takes another bite of his potato, his desperate cry for help.]
Oh, and my name’s Finn, by the way. Nice to meet you guys.
