[Though he's still getting used to the earpiece and the whole thought-to-text thing, Ryunosuke has a question that's weighing on him enough for it to be worth bothering with a message put out to the group at large.]
I've been wondering something... And I hope, perhaps, the more experienced residents here might be able to shed some light on the matter.
To say that I'm impressed with the technology present on this station would be... Well, an understatement, really. What I want to know is... Since we clearly have the means to bring all kinds of people together here, even across time and space... Is it at all possible to get a simple message back out to someone waiting in one's own world? What would I need to do, or, who would I need to speak to, in order to make that happen?
[He and Professor Mikotoba... Mmmmmaaayyyy have accidentally ditched someone...? Don't worry about it.
...Oh. Right, he should probably take the chance to introduce himself while he's at it.]
Oh, my name is Ryunosuke Naruhodo, by the way. I'm... One of the new arrivals, if that wasn't obvious enough already. If you want to know what sort of skills I'll be contributing to the team, I'm... Er. Well, I'm a defense attorney, actually... And I'll be the first one to admit, I'm a bit unsure what benefit that will be to this whole orb gathering business. But, I intend to do my best regardless! And I'm very much looking forward to working with you all.

I really wasn't trying to sell myself short! Honest!

It's just as Asogi-kun said. You truly are a fine legal talent. Give yourself more credit.

Oh, well... Thank you! Really, I'm honored to hear that! I promise that, really wasn't my intent, though... It's just felt like a bit of a stretch that there would be a scenario where legal know-how would be of much use. That's really all I meant.
[Although now Itachi sure is telling him otherwise.]

Don't forget about being quick on the uptake, either. Retaining a forty day crash course on everything there is to know about British law is no small feat.
no subject
Gosh, I. I'm not sure what to say? Other than... Thank you! I mean I really just... Did what I had to do, in order to see that the study trip went on.
[It's kind of awkward to think about now, in light of certain new information. But.]
private
[Unlike someone, he knows when he's about to get embarrassing, so: he's going to go ahead and stop buttering Ryunosuke up. For now.
Though he does switch to private-- thanks Itachi for showing him that existed, he's going to be abusing it--]
You're trying to reach Susato, right?
Re: private
A 'yes' is unnecessary. Yujin hit the nail on the head.]
I know she's more than capable of handling herself, but. If we're both going to be here on this station for a while... I just don't want her to worry.
no subject
[Yujin imagines Ryunosuke misses Susato just as much as he does, after all that time the two had spent working together; they really did make quite the team.]
I really hope something can be worked out. She's worried more than enough about-- well, all three of us-- already.

My thoughts exactly. And, of course... I'm reaching out to Miss Viveca now. I intend to make the best case I can for her!
[Even if they can't explain where they are or what they're doing... Surely they can at least let her know they're alright?]
If I succeed, I'll be sure to contact you before I send anything.

[Something very weirdly potent about that Naruhodo luck tbqh.]
Don't forget Asogi-kun, either. I'm sure he'll want to greet his old judicial assistant, too.
no subject
Yes, of course! I'll be sure to let him know as well. Thank you!

( he was only permitted to do so because it was to one who already knew of the ximilia and its mission. no day goes by he does not think of angrial. )
Do not speak poorly of your usefulness. Many of us are capable of combat or magic, but other skills are needed to supplement those capabilities. Nothing has been won through strength alone. Our missions often require diplomacy, investigative skills and a keen analytical mind. A legal professional will be of benefit, so long as you are able to adapt your thinking to encompass other worlds and races of people.

I see. Well, even if I am likely to be refused... That is still an exceedingly helpful answer. So, thank you very much!
[AS FOR THE REST... Seriously, what's with this, can't a guy be a little self-deprecating in a misguided attempt at being humble? Yeesh.]
And, alright, you make a compelling argument there. With logic like that, perhaps you'd make a decent lawyer yourself!

It's not an area of interest for me.
( man of many words. )

[On his end, Ryunosuke blinks in confusion at the words that just appeared on the message log; a genuine moment of 'did I say that out loud...? Or in my head...', but in text form.]

SORRY I JUST MEANT
It wasn't a serious suggestion! Ha ha!

As you've learned, the earpiece is especially sensitive to your thoughts.
Perhaps you should take care to deepen the division between what you think and what you say in your time here.
( hard to tell, but he's actually more amused than annoyed by this little mishap. )
no subject
Uuuugh... Yes, I'll. I'll be sure to work on that. Thank you. Sorry.

look, he's not chatty. it's a whole thing. sorry buddy. )

Itachi's right. Everyone on the station possesses skills that have proved to be beneficial on missions. If you're flexible, you'll find your niche.
Have you got everything you need?
no subject
As for things I need... I'm well set, honestly. Though... There is one thing, that I was thinking. It would probably be wise for me to familiarize myself with the previous missions you all have completed, so I've a better idea of what to expect. Are there resources available for reviewing that sort of thing? Some reports, perhaps...?
no subject
And, of course. I can send you a file of the mission reports to date. ( ping! )
I was here for Missions Three through Seven, if you have any further questions.

[Or probably more likely: start reviewing them, feel his eyes start glazing over, and then make Kazuma give him the cliffnotes.]
