There’s been some debate about whether or not to tell the Hivawei about the impending meteor strike, but has anyone considered one of them may already know?

There’s a Sage who's responsible for watching over and communing with nature. Grovin, he’s called. He was conspicuously absent from their holiday festival, which some of the locals seemed quite worried about, since he normally officiates, leads the blessing, that sort of thing.

It could be that he’s old and couldn’t make the trip, but…well…it seems interesting that he missed this particular O’sumgann, doesn’t it?

Huh. Any leads on where he was supposed to make the trip from? Sounds like a guy we should visit.

You got it. My new Moomytt buddy out of action for a bit so I'll take the ride if you can move that fast. I have a feeling this guy is a big piece of this. [ he could be totally wrong but he's fishy for a mushroom. ]

Well, they were pretty vague about that. "A full sundown and a half" away, I was told. He’s located at or near a pond.

Couldn't be the pond over in Yenat, could it? ... Nah, that's not that far. Any word about a direction or something?

[ Jake was all for this place running on vibes, but they at least needed a heading. ]

Sundown could be a direction, couldn’t it? Head toward where the sun sets. On Earth, it would be west.

[ It wasn't an interpretation Jake would've guessed right off the dome, immediately associating the passing of the sun with time; a day and a half's journey. But there was something compelling about the alternate reading, honestly. Props, stranger. ]

Aw man, yeah! You might be onto something there, brother! [ Following the sun would at least give them a clear path, that's for sure. ] You're a big riddle guy, aren'tcha?

I have a little experience with them.

[Not every game in Borderland involved riddles, but many of them did, and that’s not even getting into the fact that Borderland itself was something of a riddle. You had to think creatively to survive.

And it makes some sense that plant people would look to the sun in various aspects of life, including when giving directions.]

But it's possible others might be able to get more solid intel. I was speaking to average citizens during the party. They suggested talking to Keremo if we needed more help.

[ Once again, this guy seemed to say just enough to answer the question and not a single sentence more. Ain't that just like a cat, tbh. ]

Well I guess we're gonna have to see what other people have found. I don't think I've even heard of this Keremo guy. [ Shows how much he's been paying attention. ] Hit me up if you learn anything more, aight?

[ Chishiya certainly had his ear to the ground, if nothing else. Could be useful to have around. ]

Keremo was mentioned in the mission file. He’s an adventurer. Seems like he gets around a lot.

[He's also a nerd who read the mission file at least three times.]

The locals have been friendly so far. If we ask to visit this Sage, I cannot see a reason why they wouldn't tell us where he lives.

I agree; it's interesting. And suspicious. Especially if he didn't send word in advance that he couldn't officiate. Perhaps we could offer to check on him.

Ah. Yes. I did suggest one of us might be able to check in on him, see if he needs anything.

But the locals I talked to were just regular citizens with no authority. Maybe someone could bring it up with the chief, too.

True. Perhaps he has more insight. Important people like chiefs and sages probably know each other better than a chief and a tailor.

Mm. That’s the case where I’m from. Leaders keep in contact with each other. I wouldn’t be surprised if it were the same here.

Mm, I'll start there. See if there is an easy path to get to the sage that the chieftain knows.

The timing does make it hard not to ask question, especially if it surprised the crowd. If it were just a matter of not being able to make the trip, you'd expect him to offer an explanation.
