CALLING ALL MUSICIANS AND MUSIC LOVERS!! Are you looking for someone to play with? Want to learn a new instrument, or take your first step into the musical world? Do you enjoy live music? Use this to help connect with other musicians or music lovers here on the station! Alternately, if anyone is interested in designating a regular time or day for one big jam session, let me know! I can try to coordinate something! I'm also open to taking on a couple students who want to learn how to play the piano, guitar, or are interested in learning how to sing better. But actually, hey. How do you feel about singin' students who are basically built on bad habits. :)

I do say (⌒▽⌒)☆ hmm that'd depend on how much you hold on to those bad habits but what are we talking here? I can't really say one way or the other unless I get more info

I'm not out there caterwauling, but I am self-taught on the fly. Singing my own accompaniment, mostly. That something you teach?

I should be able to! I'm self-taught too, but I've got a knack for this kind of thing

Then if you're offering lessons for that, I've a mind to take you up on them. And general singing. Couldn't hurt. What kind of singer are you, if that's the question to ask?

opera takes years of learning under somebody else to get good if I had to describe my style... let's see folk maybe? with some pop influence kinda depends on where you're from tbh I know that probably isn't very helpful

He is notably not actually good at that at all. But thankfully he prefers sticking to listening to others, there. ]

It's not my go-to if I have more pressing matters to attend to during our downtime. But I'm proficient in the violin, though I'm readjusting to handling it properly again.

really? stringed instruments are my go-to to be honest other than singing I mean I played cello for a while but unfortunately had to quit a couple months before I came here

I wouldn't count on it being before we're off on our next mission. Like I said, I need to relearn, in a way.

Maybe during our next chunk of downtime. But only once I'm properly back up to snuff!

I already had at least one friend declare that he'd like to see me play again, so I'm doing it because I want to.

I hardly need lessons. My knowledge is there, I'm simply waiting for for my arm prosthetic setting to completely heal before I can properly break in its movements for more intense actions like playing.

I play a little guitar and a little piano, though I'm admittedly rusty with both.

More a soloist, I'm afraid.

that's ok! the way I envision this is some playing together but also space to perform in general if you want to of course. I'm not gonna force you obviously too busy to play? or is there another reason that went on the back burner? you don't need to answer btw. just curious!

Time, interest, and access to instruments to practice on, mostly. Though I've played a bit in the music room here.

We used to have a band on the station. I don't think I have the [heart] energy for a band anymore, but if you'd ever like a flute accompanist, I'd be more than happy to.

really? did they disband or something? know why? and wouldn't that be the other way around? I can accompany you if you wanna play flute!

The woman who organized the band returned to her home world not too long ago.

that makes sense but why wouldn't they just stick together and find someone else to fill her spot? you can do a lot with an instrument that you never could do singing! it's also a lot easier to sing in general but that's just my opinion

She wasn't the only one. It turns out the turnover makes it pretty difficult to keep anything going here.

Hmmm I don't know about that. I think the voice is just another kind of instrument, just as wonderful as any other.

I play the guitar, and I can sing. I'm absolutely up for a jam session sometime.

no way! I'm an indie if anything!! but I really appreciate the vote of confidence ✨ believe it or not I actually have trouble getting people to listen back home there's way too much noise to break through.

Aren't there any indie music stars? I think I remember a few from the early 21st century.

That's too bad. If they're not listening to you, then they're missing out. You write all your songs, or are they collaborations, mostly covers...?

I mean uh
I'm into music! I play guitar. Acoustic and ROCK-ALL-NIGHT guitar!
And I play a meaaan piano.

I sing a little too, but my voice sucks for anything other than punk music.

I dunno, I've heard my voice sounds like nails on a chalkboard.
But, like, I try! Never hurts to just DO IT, shoot for the moon, etc, etc.
The worst thing I can do is accidentally deafen the crew.

I wouldn't mind a jam session. I can sing, and I know a few different instruments- the lute, panpipes, piano, bells...

Wow, you're really giving me a run for my money. A singer and you have a bunch of instruments under your belt? Sounds like I can learn something from you. That'll be fun!

So how's this: I'm cool with a jam session for sure, but if you can teach me the lute, I can show you a couple things on the cello. Interested?

I'm a metal and rock fan myself and if you play the guitar, I'd love to learn!!! [ there may be some force related cheating involved though but... just a little? ]

I do! I don't really have any experience with metal but I can teach you some basics on the guitar if you want~
