[ It's now been a whole year since Joric joined this crew and yet this is the first time he's ever made a network post on his own. That's partly due to his nature of not saying anything if he feels he has nothing to say and partly due to him never really bothering to check into how to start a post rather than joining in later. But what he's discovered seemed important enough to share with the rest of the Orbers. ]

Has anyone else noticed the sun is really a giant glowing eye that's watching us?

[ Straight to the point has always been his way and besides, how do you prepare people for this bit of news? ]

It's easiest to see at dawn before it's too bright and the same probably holds true for sunset if you'd like to check for yourselves. I looked through the library to see if there was any mention of the ordinary sun being replaced in the past, but I found nothing. It's possible the people here know what it is, but don't see it as odd, or won't speak out to it being so.

But it's definitely watching us. The eye is almost always scanning back and forth, only sometimes stopping to stare at who knows what. I checked throughout the day while wearing sunglasses.

What is everyone's thoughts? I hope it's not the orb itself, else who knows how we'll retrieve it. Does it seem like the orb was used to put some sort of watcher in place? Or maybe the orb doesn't play a role in it at all and this is normal for this place.

Perhaps.

The actions of the "sun" felt intentional, a threat. The figures don't feel that way.

Or interact with them.

This town is designed for people to live with their head in the sand.

That seems likely.

Humans do many strange things, though. I've been to place that lived in a similar way.

[Oh, that raises an interesting question.]

Have you or anyone else made attempts to leave the town?
