Unlike the previous users on this network, I'm one of the new arrivals, so I'll introduce myself: My name is Percival Fredrickstein von Musel Klossowski de Rolo III. I know, it's a mouthful. You can call me Percy. Where I'm from I'm an engineer and an inventor, and I've crafted weapons and bombs and other miscellaneous objects for my friends to use. The lab here is, I'll admit, far more advanced than my workshop back at home, but I'm getting the hang of it.
I've made this offer to a few of you already, but if we're all going to work together then I may as well make it a more public offer. Should any of you need a quick distraction, a secondary weapon, or some improvements to an object already in your possession, let me know and I'll see what I can do for you.
I would also like to speak with the other engineers and tinkerers aboard this station. I think most of you are far more used to working with workshops like the lab here than I am, and I'd be happy to learn from you. [Also more than a little bit jealous.] My world is not quite so advanced as many of those represented here, I think. (If anyone else is here from Exandria - let me know. If anyone else is also from a world with magic but without this level of technology, let me know as well, I need people to commiserate with.)
One final note: I've made some cosmetic improvements to the waffle maker and the popcorn machine in the kitchen. You're welcome.
[Indeed, if you were checking the kitchen the night before this post, you might've noticed that both had mysteriously disappeared. Check it now, and you'll find that the Doctor's waffle maker and popcorn machine, while still not looking anything like a Cuisinart model, also look more elegantly put-together and less like a metallic mishmash. Percy clearly cares a bit more about aesthetics than others, and there's an almost steampunk aesthetic to the appliances now.
They still work basically the same way though.]

I also have a pistol that might benefit from a few upgrades. I'd be happy to bring it by to discuss some options. It's a flintlock, if you're familiar with those.
text
Also, a shrapnel bomb, but that's less of a distraction and more crowd control.
Very familiar. I can take a look. What options were you thinking of, exactly?
no subject
As for the pistol, depends on what you're able to do. Less kick when fired, extra bullet capacity, maybe if there's a way to make it lighter for better accuracy. Or, I don't know if there's a way to streamline and simplify reloading, but I always wished that could be a little faster to do.

I'm still working on that last part myself, but I'll let you know when I have a breakthrough. As for the rest, I can manage that, I'd only need time. When do you think we're bound for our next mission? Depending on how much time there is between now and our departure, I can squeeze in one or two upgrades to your pistol.

[ especially with an upcoming mission. maybe some brass knuckles or something. ]
My name's Raleigh. Not from a world of magic, but there's plenty of tech where I com from.
text;
A pleasure to meet you, Raleigh. What kind of technology was common, back in your world?
Re: text;
Well, we built giant robots to fight against monsters. They're pretty technologically advanced. Way ahead of anything we had before. It's really lead to some advancements in medicine, actually. Now that the wars over, I think they're hoping to really make some leaps and bounds.

I can make you a gauntlet with a retractable dagger. All you'd have to do to pop it out is move your wrist a certain way.
I'll admit, I've heard of and even enacted quite a few unorthodox methods of fighting against monsters, but building giant robots expressly for that purpose is new.
How did they work? These robots. I imagine operating them would be very complicated, from the sheer size alone.
no subject
Well, bombs and guns and the other traditional methods didn't work. The kaiju were just too big, skin was too thick.
It's all a little sciencey for me, but I can tell you a little bit about it. Might be easier in person.
I also have my drivesuit and circuitry suit here if you'd like to take a look.

And welcome to the ship, Percy. I am Lan Xichen of the Gusu Lan Sect in my home world, but please call me Xichen.
text;
It's a pleasure to make your acquaintance, Xichen. Would it be prying too much to ask what the Gusu Lan Sect is?
no subject
Something small and discreet, perhaps? I do not not know how to work with guns but I hope to learn. I am a good marksmen when it comes to archery.
No, it would not be. In my home different sects exist and oversee the proceedings of certain provinces. We assist the villages and protect them from spirits and monsters, facilitate trade and provide if they are ever in need. If there is a disturbance in the territory a sect oversees, its cultivators are sent to ensure the safety of its citizens.
There are many sects. Amongst them, currently, three great gentry sects; the Jiang of Yunmeng, the Jin of Lanling, and the Lan of Gusu.
