The Mayor and I had a heart to heart in her office. Reporting on details:

-The Companions, the fake people, aren't controlled by her, but by the Sun. It's not just an advanced monitoring system - it's alive, and it's keeping everyone here hostage. Making everyone pretend to be the town we see. It's also behind replacing people with the Companions.

(Side Speculation: Could this be connected to the list of people? She might have been noting people that are drawing attention and getting on the Sun's bad side?)

-All of the Companions shutdown during my talk with her and they don't seem to be getting up again. She said it's because we've made the Sun mad. There's no way to communicate with the Sun. Either they make it happy or angry and they've been trying to stick with the former to stay alive.

(Side Note: The Sun could hear us the entire time and she spoke quieter and quieter through our talk. We need to be careful what we say aloud moving forward. It's listening to all of us.)

-She has no idea about the orb or where it might be. Really hoping it isn't the sun itself but it could be something connected to it.

-She wants the town to be free but she's afraid. All the people here are. But I don't think they want to keep taking it anymore and that's why they're acting out. We might be able to get them to cooperate with us if we break the pretenses about just being a bunch of new move ins.


Whatever is going down, we need to bring an end to it fast. We can't leave these people to suffer. This is just a mission for us, but it's their lives on the line.

The Sun.

That makes things harder. How would we even get to it? Without a ship, it's impossible.

Unless it has a power source somewhere in the town.

Yeah, that's my biggest worry. I don't get the impression this place has any craft that can reach that high.

It could be the Sun is guarding the orb? The Mayor had no clue about it so could be in a place she doesn't know about in the town.

I'd say find a way to bring it down, but an object that large . . . It'll be devastating.

Only if we can't guide where it falls. If we can manage that then it's an option. But there's also the matter of firepower.

I know we have a lot of people with powers and strength beyond the norm, but could we really fight a Sun?

Maybe we don't need to fight it head on.

Someone suggested blinding it. If we had a reflective sheet large enough, we could blind it. No matter where the pupil went, we could move the sheet with the Force.

[blindrun]

[ He frowns at that, only because of the mention of the Force. There are a handful of Jedi here, so they could handle it on their own. But the idea of not helping at all... how much is a secret worth keeping when times are getting dire? ]

I wonder how feasible making a sheet would be. If there aren't solar panels here, maybe mirrors?

Or mirrored glass. It should do the job. If we gather it quickly enough and fuse them together, it should suffice.

We would just need to gather as much material as possible without the Sun getting wise. It was able to hear everything the Mayor and I talked about, so we should assume it could also see what we do with minimal blindspots.

Maybe we can distract it. Something big and loud.

I could get Anakin to blow something up. He likes that.

[ Considering the memories he has of Master Windu's face scrunching up when Skywalker's battle plans were brought up... yeah he trusts that. ]

I'm sure a bunch of people here would be thrilled at the idea. A lot of the townspeople also seem riled up. Like they don't want to take it anymore.

We can get them involved.

A fake dilemma like a . . . monster on the loose or all the lawns are destroyed. Something that has all the people congregated or spreading silly rumours while chaos happens.

While some of us slip under the radar.

Create mass chaos and take advantage of the hysteria. I think that's the best route for distracting the sun. We can fuse the mirrored panels during that time and then it's just a matter of getting the sun's focus on it.

I don't think we'll have a problem there once we're ready.

[blindrun]

Yeah.

I'll help with keeping its attention. Think its time I stop hiding.

Yeah.

I'm a Jedi too.

If it has the orb, it wouldn't need a power source here. But if it's this influential it's probably not millions of miles away, it might only be a few hundred feet up.

That's a fair point. It would explain why it's an entity in its own right.

If it's just a few hundred feet, we could slingshot things at it.

Do you have a weapon in mind?

It doesn't need to be too specific. Something sharp that can be launched will do. Metal, sharpened to a point is fine.

The Sun can probably protect itself against something like that. I guess I was hoping for a better option than just basic projectiles.

If we were in an ideal situation, I'd go for something better. But time and technology is against us. We just don't have the materials for that kind of thing here or the time to put together something sophisticated.
