Hello! My name is Drift, and unfortunately, I'm more used to writing speeches than giving them. [ An agonizingly chipper voice comes through that might make you think of a substitute teacher trying too hard. ] Ordinarily, I avoid starting with negativity, especially in greeting, but this felt urgent. I apologize in advance if this is detrimental to anyone attempting to regain a more positive outlook after having gone through the ordeal that was our arrival.
It has come to my attention that the mess hall in the southeastern wing accommodates the specific needs of newcomers. Otherwise, fantastic news, but I'm compelled to warn everyone here now: If you come across any containers with a somewhat viscous or luminous quality that could be anything from purple, pink, orange, or green?
Do. Not. Drink. It.
Actually, you would be doing me a favor if you avoided touching it at all and contacted me immediately. In all likelihood, that's a container of Energon or a similar substance, and it is remarkably toxic to humans. I say 'remarkably' because the poor medical staff would only be able to remark on how quickly your internal organs coagulated into sludge after the first gulp.
It's perfectly safe if it's unopened, but to err on the side of caution, I'd ask it be removed by either myself or someone with experience in hazardous materials if you come across it.
[ Drift clears his 'throat' which sounds more like machinery venting overlaid with the sound of cough. ]
On a lighter note, I'd like to explore the possibility of scheduled team-building exercises. Making full use of the station's training and simulation rooms for more regimented practice and possible meditation for those who need it couldn't hurt.

I see you've met the other one. [ Just throws some casual distance between him and Megatron there. ]
Yes. [ Pause. Eyes narrow. ] Don't try it.

Hi there! And yes, I did. I'm guessing you don't get along? [ Drift sounds already tired when speaking of Megatron and Peter can see that he has blue eyes, which indicates 'Autobot' to him. The insignia in his chest it's also a giveaway. ]
I wasn't gonna. [ Today. ] But you might want to store the energon is safe containers. Maybe somewhere cool and dry? If any part of the station explode and the pressure changes, we're doomed.

The containers there now are perfectly safe. They won't even cross-contaminate in the refrigerators. We've stored Energon on ships for longer than humanity's existed. We've got the protocol down, don't worry. It should just, y'know, not be next right to the milk.
I promise if something happens it won't be as dramatic as- uh, your experience with Energon. [ He does not have the capacity to deal with Transformers the Cartoon right now. ]

[ Peter might be very excitable and obnoxious in equal amounts but unlike Rocket, he can actually read the room and tell when someone's not in the mood to share their life experiences with a virtual stranger. He's happy to redirect the conversation to something else. ]
That's a huge relief. I admit, I was less worried about cross-contamination and more about...[ Newt. ]...some people trying to analyze and investigate what the Energon is made off, either by drinking it or mixing it up with other substances in the lab.
Hah, good. But really, my experiences are mostly really fond memories from when I was a kid and I still had a home. [ He doesn't have a lot of those, you see. And those feel like an eternity ago. ] I imagine things are different in reality. Do you have an alt mode, though? If that's not too personal to ask.

Samples I can provide, mind you they would be small. I just would appreciate a heads up, and of course, preventing anyone plagued by the three in the morning munchies not knowing what they're grabbing and making a terrible mistake.
[ Drift finds himself smiling at that, however weird it was. ] Oh, ah, well, thanks to a bit of downsizing here, I'm a Toyota GR Supra heavily modded for drift racing. Themes, you know?
Who- [ He clears his throat. This was so bizarre. ] Who were your favorites as a kid?

[ Peter also would try to murder the asshole on sight, but that's a different issue.
Ah, the drama...The universe likes to make clowns of people for entertainment, it's alright. Peter has been part of the circus too, he knows it's inevitable. ]
Your post sounds like a good warning, I hope people listen. What does Energon taste like? You can't eat anything else? Because that would be a shame. We just celebrated Halloween like, 3 days ago, and there are still plenty of sweets around.
[ Because this is what the station needs, Cybertroninas with a sugar rush. At the mention of Drift's al mode, Peters' lips turn into a silent Ohhh, clearly impressed. ]
That sounds so COOL! Great choice for a car model. Racing,...I miss that. I bet you go faster than anything I've seen before. I'm used to flying ships rather than cars, but it's the speed that make it so fun.
[ Alien robots that turn into cars are just amazing, okay, please don't judge his fanboying. Peter wasn't expecting that question, so he has to think about it for a few seconds, then he looks rather sheepish a hand rubbign at the back of his neck. ]
Weeeeell, Optimus Prime was pretty much a fan favorite of everyone. [ And it goes without saying that he also enjoyed Megatron, but it's clear Drift has 'personal issue with him, so Peter keeps that to himself. ] There was also that Cybertronians who could turn himself into a T-Rex? Ah...Grimlock, I think? I was 8 at the time, you need to understand that to a human kid, a 40 feet tall dino robot is PEAK design.

It depends on the type of Energon; Effervescent, and I suppose you might call it...sweet? I share a common taste with my former CO and usually go for a light spritzer.
[ Drift smiles at that and says, ] I'm not much for racing, but yes I can confidentaly say I am pretty fast.
[ And what Drift definitely isn't going to ruin for Peter is pointing out what a deeply flawed individual Optimus Prime was before and after the war. It would be like kicking a turbofox kit. ]
Heh Yes, I can easily see the appeal the likes of Grimlock would hold for a child of eight. He's doing well if you wanted to know. He got himself a cozy little found-family of misfits. And before you ask- yes, he still turns into a forty-foot t-rex.

Peter debates about sharing because it's not exactly a nice story, but he concludes that IF Thanos ever shows up here, people need to know how dangerous he can be. ]
He's not. Thanos used a powerful artifact to wipe off half of all life in the universe. Before that, he also murdered my girlfriend, his adoptive daughter, to get that power. We were all gone for five years.
[ Boy, there's a lot to unpack here. Peter is aware, so he pauses for a moment, his face on the side of neutral as he forces himself not to think too much about what happened. He's been in a good mood because Gamora is now in the stations, and he just meet TWO Cybertronians, so he wants the interaction to stay on the positive side. ]
Effervescent? [ For some reason, that makes him chuckle softly. ] Nice. Good to hear it actually tastes like some decent drink and not like Terran's gasoline. And I believe you.
[ About being a fast car, he means. He's unaware of the truth but yes, he would appreciate not knowing that not even cartoon childhood heroes can become jaded and cynical with time. Peter looks once again thrilled upon hearing the news about Grimlock. Hell yeah, dino roboooot! ]
30 years later, it still seems awesome, if I am honest. [ He's only a bit ashamed to admit it. ] Aww that's nice. We all need one of those.

[ Drift looks out to some middle distance for a moment, unresponsive to whatever Peter was telling him about Earth gasoline or whatever. Worrying his lower lip thinking of the last words Megatron had said aboard the Lost Light: Four million years. All that time. All that life. Wasted. Only to hear what Peter said next, and snapped out of his naval-gazing with near enough force that could have broken one of his neck cables. Staring slack-jawed at Peter before he could hotwire two brain chips together to form a response. ]
I see. [ Not the best response, but he knew enough human parlance to know 'girlfriend' didn't just mean a friend who happened to be a girl. Drift's posture visibly deflates, and before he could think to ask what was meant by 'gone for five years' added: ]
You have my sympathies and my understanding. Shortly before coming here, I lost someone, too.

[ Peter immediately regrets sharing after he sees Drift expression, knowing that it's a lot and all of a sudden. They all have big regrets that brought him to this station, and some really are more overwhelming than others. ]
Thank you. And my apologies, I shouldn't have bothered you with my problems. It's only that if that asshole somehow manages to appear here, I want people to be prepared.
I'm sorry to hear we share that sort of pain, it's really not easy. Talking helps a bit, but it can be really fucking hard too.
