( If there's a slight tone like he's herding a class of daredevil kindergarteners away from a hot stove, well, he feels it's reasonable. Letting that sink in, he squares his shoulders and affects a tone more conversational, if direct, underlaid by his soft Georgian lilt: )
For those of you I haven't met: my name is Dr. Leonard McCoy. At home, I am Chief Medical Officer aboard a starship– you may have already met my captain, James T. Kirk.
I have a few announcements, so just stick with me and save any questions for the end.
The infirmary is open to whomever needs it, whenever they need it. The facility is not ours, but we all have a vested interest in ensuring it remains neat, clean, and safe for everyone. So don't break anything, leave the liquor in your quarters, and save your quarrelin' for the simulation room.
( If you think he's talking about you, he...he totally is. )
We have a talented team of medics and healers onboard, and there are first aid supplies in the expanded pharmacology center if you need them. If you'd like to learn first aid or continue any education on your own, there's now a wealth of learning materials available to study. As many of you were here for our mission in Kilnan last month, I needn't have to stress the importance of knowing such skills.
For those who know basic first aid and wish to learn more advanced care, I'll be arranging specific training days in the sim room for the New Year.

If you need me specifically for a consult, treatment, or during an immediate medical emergency, just comm me and I'll be here. With the addition of the pharmacology center, I can also synthesize most medications, should the station not provide it.
Lastly, in order to provide this station with the best care, I have permission from Viveca to access crew medical files, with that crew member's consent. With respect to patient privacy, only I can see them, only I will read them, and any diagnosis, treatments and the like will not be shared with others. If I need to consult with anyone else regarding your care, I will do my best to inform you in advance.
( So hey, don't do shit that knocks you senseless so he can't ask, please. He folds his arms across his chest. They're in the home stretch! )
In the event of an emergency, you may choose to specify who I may release your medical information to. If you have need of an advance directive, I can add that to your file as well.
Let me stress that this is opt-in only. No communication? No consent, no access.

For the purposes of patient confidentiality, you may reach out to me personally regarding your file.
