[ if someone told clarice she'd be reaching out to the rest of her cohort almost the instant she finds her footing on the station, she'd have laughed in their face. frankly, she would have preferred to keep her head down, stay out of the way until she was needed.

but some things were necessary, and dealing with a whole set of people whose backgrounds and experiences she had no clue about necessitated some information-gathering.

reaching out anonymously seemed like a good compromise. ]

[ she's here for one reason, and one reason only. making a list of those she had to steer clear from is only going to help her achieve her goal in the long run. ]

An individual, organism, or new genetic character arising or resulting from an instance of mutation, which is a sudden structural change within the DNA of a gene or chromosome of an organism resulting in the creation of a new character or trait not found in the parental type. Usually caused by radiation or genetic engineering.

If you're using "mutant" as some kind of code word to find out if there are people you know from your homeworld here, you may be disappointed.

Although, depending on how you feel about people from your homeworld, maybe not.

Some of us don't come from any Earth at all, so perhaps it's best if you widen your scope a bit.

I didn't get that, no.
It's hard to tell whether you're talking about lower case earth as in dirt/soil/ground, or proper noun Earth as in the worst name for a planet I've ever heard of, when you don't capitalize any of your letters.

[ Sounds like someone's decided to play grammar police. ]
