[ andy appears, barely ten minutes after joric smuggles her not!corpse out of the arena, and she hurries to share what happened without thinking much of it - thus she's looking a little bloodstained but unharmed otherwise. it's spattered obscenely across her neck, with some flecks into her face, remnant of what could be a throat slitting. ]

Don't ask. I found the fucking orb from Amaryllis Grove.

[ she'll grab a towel of sorts and start wiping down. ]

It took over Jial Bryn, of the Daughters of Twilight. I challenged her to a duel for leadership to see why her family kept winning and what might happen, and it turns out she's possessed now or some shit. Recently infected. It's interested in fucking up this world even more.

The good news is the orb thinks I'm dead and can't share its existence with everyone, so we'll have the element of surprise, whatever happens next. It doesn't know we know about it.

[ did the orb murder her? maybe a little bit. ]

Maybe stay away from the shadow of Jial Bryn until we have a plan. They don't fight fair. Do we know anything about her second in command? Her reaction to the challenge was the only differing one.

We made it to the tower.

[She sounds plenty winded, and much like the others involved, the terrain and creatures haven't been super kind to her. But unlike poor Natasha or Yujin, she at least has smaller, less concerning injuries; scrapes and scratches, with the worst of it being the shallow cut left by one of those annoying desert devils that has been haphazardly wrapped in bandage out of the Qiankun bag that Wei Wuxian gave her so long ago.

Also, she is very clearly sunburnt.

Nobody should have let the ginger run off without sunscreen.]

It's hard to doubt now that one of the orbs is definitely in there; I'm pretty sure we heard its voice. Their voices? There were overlapping voices. Usual orb bullshit. It said 'You will not have me'. I suppose it could've been voices that belonged to the people involved, but the orbs have a habit of sounding like that, so...

Anyway. The place is totally impenetrable from typical weapons from the Ximilia. I used the biggest gun in my arsenal and didn't even leave a dent in whatever the tower's supposed to be made with. Actually, the shot kind of just... shimmered? Like there was some weird magic coating, or something. Ergo, orb bullshit, or maybe someone involved who has some crazy strong s... park energy?

There's no doors or anything to get through, either... so what or wherever the true entrance is, it's gonna be annoying to find it.

... We might have seen the person who made the deal, too. At least, I feel like it could be them, since deal-makers aren't usually far from the source. It was a lady with curly hair and dark skin, in a green dress — just a green dress, actually. It definitely wasn't something you could just run around in the desert wearing without getting yourself killed. We're pretty sure she was really there, because the others found a footprint where she'd been standing.

[She shifts, looking a little concerned.]

I swear, I think I heard her say 'help' — when the voices spoke. I mean, it might have been someone else talking, but... I don't know. I just think whoever made a deal, they must be really, really stuck in it. Hopefully you guys in the Roof have been finding some stuff out for the other orb, too? I think we're all getting pretty close...

And — Yujin and Natasha, are you two doing okay? The others got to you to help, right?

[YOUR SAFETIES HAVE BEEN A CONCERN.]

[ there were a number of conflicting thoughts keeping clarke up at night lately: the recent news of their time in ximilia coming to an end with the missions and their search for the orb, the friendships she has made with people and the fact she has been here since the very beginning of the journey just over two years.

today just so happens to be her birthday which would really be public knowledge at this point from the crew birthday calendar that newt put together. is it a coincidence? did she actually remember what today is and that she is turning another year older? it is anyone's guess really.

there is a lot going on with their current mission so her birthday is low priority here but there is just one little thing involving her personal goal— perform an act of physical affection with three separate teammates — that even prompts her to her inquire on the network]

Okay, so. I need some help with my personal goal. How does everyone feel about hugs? [ love them? hate them? or are you the type of person who neutral to it? she totally asking the important questions here!! maybe you are wondering what this has to with her goal but look she will get to her point once she's able to vibe check how people feel about them. she knows that there are obviously other forms of physical affection but hugging seems like the easiest option and well after the latest news maybe more people could use a hug whether they want to admit to it or not]

[ The feed begins on a man sitting in the middle of the small but well appointed kitchen of a Tarrytown guest home, wearing Dr. Strange's cloak around his neck like a barber's cape. His face isn't familiar at all to any of the Orbers, though his voice might be. ]

Welp. Hey, everybody. I got into Team Torpedo's HQ. [ The man looks up briefly at, presumably, Stephen Strange and gives a thumbs up in approval. ] Oh yeah man, whatever cheese you got is fine.

[ Stephen moves into frame behind the stranger, a few eggs, tomatoes, and a block of cheese floating behind him, Disney Princess style (if Disney Princesses wore sweatpants exclusively). The Strange Omelet Bar is officially open.

In the foreground of the video feed, Jake refocuses his attention on his audience. ]

So anyway, we all know they're kidnapping Cubits. I saw what kinds they're going for; ones that are unique colors combinations, new species we didn't get in the literature Viveca and Degar briefed us on, things we don't have any idea on. They've got 'em all stacked up together in these horrible little cages in their lab, under the knife of this real piece of work: R.M. Chamise. She's a doctor a lot like Cress, only way more into cutting cute little Cubits open and finding out what makes them tick.

She's Torpedo's chief scientist, at least I think she's chief of something. She reports directly to Koga and seems to have a lot of latitude to order the grunts around. [ He holds up arm, bullet wound plainly visible. ] They shot me, but like, it's cool. I kinda trying to kidnap her, so I guess that's understandable.

Anyway, while I was there I got a pretty good look at the lab. They have a whole room with a single Cubit in a stasis beam with two guards on standby duty. There was another room locked sealed up with a keypad. The code to it uses some variation of 3, 7, 8, and 9. I was going off the idea that it's a four digit deal, but honestly... nothing I put in there worked, so maybe it's longer?

Whatever it is, it uses those numbers. I'd bet my nose on it.

[ Rubbing the back of his neck, a cast iron pan floats towards Stephen in the background. ]

There was something else R.M. Chamise mentioned: a rock. One that Koga was absolutely obsessed with. [ He shrugs meaningfully, eyebrows rising. ] You connect the dots.

[ The man sniffs the air briefly, turning fully back towards the stove (and revealing a very naked back). Hunger was taking hold. Jake's fellow Orbers only had so much of his scant attention left before they lost out to brunch. ]

But yeah, like, ask me whatever you want and I'll fill you in on whatever details I can-- Ah! Hold up-- [ He looks back fully, briefly forgetting the food. ] And if you know how to do weird stuff and don't mind getting into a little trouble, hit me up. Professor Chamise gave me a fancy new cover story that might free up your powers a little, too.

[ With a quick finger gun, the feed ends. Or seems to end. A few minutes later, the man is back online; an empty plate in front of him, crumb of egg stuck in his mustache, and a vaguely unsettled Stephen Strange looking on behind him. ]

Oh, and has anyone seen my brother? Last I saw he was getting hit with a rock and knocked out. Just... wanna make sure he's all good. Thanks.

Hello everyone!

I'm not sure if this is how you usually do this, this is my first mission, but I've got some information that could prove important.

I'm Phoenix Wright, by the way.

I've been helping Professor Cress and asking her about the Legendary Cubit, that she calls Ankhaos. If it's not the orb, I'd be really surprised if it didn't turn out to be related to it somehow. These are the things that are interesting and/or important about it:

1. She thinks it might not be native to Ankata, unlike the other Cubits.

2. People have described it as larger than other Cubit, majestic and terrifying

3. It has spectral star-like energy around it, whatever that means.

4. There might be something going on around Tarrytown. People hear screeching in the night that sounds like the word chaos. Since she told me this while talking about the Ankhaos (also notice the 'haos' ending) I assume she thinks it's related or maybe even Ankhaos itself. Is anyone in the area?

If anyone has heard or seen anything you think might be Ankhaos let me know.

Good afternoon, Ximilia Station.

By now I've had some time to get accustomed to the situation here and what we're expected to be doing, but there's still a lot left unanswered. However, I don't want to wear someone out with too many questions, so I've decided to try something different. Anyone who responds to this post, I'll ask one question I have about life here, our missions, or our purpose.

Thank you in advance for helping out.

I'm supposed to give a teammate a black eye. I've been putting this off for a while since I wasn't sure if I wanted to go through with it but I figured I would ask at least.

Would anyone be willing to volunteer for that?
[she finds herself making a face just stating that fact because she hates that she even has to ask this] I can help to ensure it heals over properly when it's all said and done but I know it's a lot to ask. I'd definitely owe you one or I can offer to help you with your goal in return.

Ciri here. I've never seen museums like this, they're so big?

Anyway, most what I learned isn't interesting enough to share. There's three moons around Nuhiri! Tetron, Basra, and Maevum. You can see that last one really well at night. Kind of reminds me of home.

Deumia basically is a big source of funding for the whole Federation. Between employing people and in having a lot of natural resources like electrium. Also some kinds used in jewelry or house stuff, I forget the list. But it sounds like the kind of economic centre they need to keep secure. And expand. That's how these things seem to go.

I didn't learn anything new about ghost matter, just that it's part of the "atmosphere" like we knew. Lots of stuff on how people need to take care so their powers won't be suppressed by it.

The history center didn't turn up as much as I hoped either. I thought there would be someone or something in their history that'd be important for mission but there wasn't much that was relevant. Mostly a lot of tourists from other parts of the galaxy who are relieved that their stop here is temporary but just as curious as we are about the ghost matter until they learn about the sickness. Anyone who was local around here just seemed excited about the gift shop and the bakery and eager to tourist watch more than anything else.

It was nice though to learn more about this place but hopefully the rest of you have had better luck with finding more relevant information we need here.

[ There's something to be said about watching a planet process their imminent demise in front of you to put the fragility and preciousness of time in perspective. These missions were dangerous. Any of them could catch the wrong end of a sword or trip over a rock and bam, that's it. Even beyond the missions, people went home for all sorts of reasons all the time. Sometimes with warning, sometimes without any at all. Steve, Gwen, Helen, Rand... it was enough to make even a seventeen year old boy feel some type of way about how much time they all had with each other.

And, as with many seventeen year old boys (and particularly this one), those impossibly huge feelings all came back to one central question: am I gonna die before I get to make out with someone again!?

This would be so much simpler if he was home, but on a ship full of humans? All his instincts felt jumbled and culturally out of step. How did humans court each other? Did they just go right up and ask? Was there some sort of... dancing involved? High School Musical definitely made that seem important. Whatever the customs were, Finn was mortified by the thought of shooting his shot and missing on a technicality.

And so now here's here. Well, not him. Someone. A random individual, asking an innocuous question. ]

Does anyone have any advice for asking someone out? The person is really cool and funny and brave and has nice hair, but all I can come up with is telling them that and inviting them to the sim room.

I guess date ideas would be cool too. There isn't much to do here.

I've got an idea- I'm not entirely sure if it will work, but it's worth a try, unless someone can suggest an alternative way of helping the Hivawei.

[Because stopping the asteroid doesn't seem possible without using the orb, and even Sabriel has to admit that doing so would be risky.]

I have Remi's notes, because I was there for that mission- they describe a means of opening paths between worlds. I've never been able to make it work, but Doctor Strange and I think that if enough magic users work together, and combine our abilities, we might be able to make it work, and send any of the Hivawei who don't wish to die with their planet to a place they can survive. A place like Gyeonje, not Badrock or E-23b.

[Sending the Hivawei to either of the latter would just be condemning them to a slow death, rather than a rapid one.]

So I'm asking anyone with any magical abilities if they're willing to help find a way to get the Hivawei off this planet, even if the attempt to reach Remi fails. But if he does answer our call- hopefully he'll be willing to help.

[ Since he’s arrived, Ade has done his best to maintain a low profile. Even knowing that c’nataat isn’t why he’s been brought here, he’d still figured it was best to limit interactions with the rest of the crew for the time being. Now, with reassurances that the symbiote’s contagious potential has been heavily curtailed in this universe, he’s feeling a bit better about reaching out.

Which is convenient because even just shortly after touchdown on Ciraiwei… there’s a lot to discuss. ]

First things first: My name’s Ade. I’m another new arrival, so sorry in advance if I’m not totally familiar with how things work here.

I think the same question must be on a lot of people’s minds, so I thought I might as well be the one to bite the bullet:

Are we going to tell the Hivawei about the asteroid?

[ There really isn’t a delicate way to put it. The question hangs in the air for a terrible moment before Ade forces himself to continue. ] I think we should. I know there’s nothing anyone can do to stop it but… they should get the chance to make preparations. Say goodbye. You know? [ Ade drags a hand through his hair, grimacing. ] I know it would make things a lot more chaotic, but just taking what we need and then leaving them to it without even a word of warning… It doesn’t sit right with me.

[ There’s a longer pause here. It’s a heavy topic and, as convicted as Ade feels that telling the Hiwavei would be the right thing to do, he can still think of just as compelling reasons to do the opposite. He doesn’t want to act as if his word is law or as he isn’t willing to hear others’ perspectives.

…Unfortunately, there’s also a second part of his message—one that Ade feels like a right tit for bringing up after the discussion of the incoming planetary apocalypse. ]

Also, uh… sorry if I’m going about this the wrong way—I know we all have much, much bigger things to deal with, but…I was assigned a personal task.

[ He winces. They need to do these things to harness the power of the orbs, right? He tells himself that this will bring him one step closer to saving millions of lives in his own universe. He still feels like an ass, though. ]

I need three people to skip breakfast for a day. Just a day. If you’d like, I can make it up to you by making you breakfast another time. I’ll even bring it to your room if you’d like. I’m not a world-class chef or anything, but I should be able to make something simple: pancakes, french toast, that kind of thing.

[ (He’s being humble; this is a man that taught himself to bake and made a cake with frosting on an alien planet. And it was vegan.) ]

So, uh… If anyone’s willing to help with that, just let me know. Like I said, I just need three volunteers.

Thanks.

Good evening, everyone! For those who don't know me, I am Rita Farr, your Team Morale Coordinator.

[ wait, who assigned her that position? ]

As you all well know, we have been joining mission after mission with the intention of collecting orbs to protect the world and save towns from devastation. In a way, you might say we're ... space-travelling superheroes!

And as any superhero would tell you, it's very important to have codenames for our mission. Obviously, we often obtain our very own undercover civilian names. But in the line of duty, when we're in the heat of the fight, we should just as well have assigned titles to continue preserving our identities.

As the Ximilia's Team Morale Coordinator — [ again, who voted her into that position? ] I took it upon myself to select carefully crafted codenames for each and every one of you.

[ she then holds up a sheet of paper, featuring a list of all of the orbers, each with another name printed beside them. ]

You will find this list posted in the Mess Hall. Please take a moment at your best convenience to study the list and memorize each of the names listed for future use. Though I worked very hard to select them — [ she clears her throat, brushing her hair back. ] I suppose that if you have any issue with the name chosen for you, we can discuss making possible changes. Though I don't see why anyone would want to.

[Sabriel's at the local healer's, in bed propped up with a bunch of pillows, looking worn and unhealthily pale. It's been several days since their adventure in the Silver Caverns, and she's come out of the drugged sleep she was put in as the healers worked to deal with her stomach wound, and Sabriel... has been listening to their orders to not move. But her bedside his piled high with books and parchment- she's clearly been keeping herself busy.]

So it seems that the stories of the Silver Caverns were not exaggerating- soon after entering, we were set upon by three basilisks- luckily, it seems healing magic can halt their petrification.

[And why is it that only clerics have such a useful spell? But Sabriel presses on, her voice businesslike as she details]

We wounded them, and set off down the tunnel they came through. But as we went further in, we found a portal. We were unable to enter, but could hear the sound of more basilisks on the other side. And we found more passages, leading to more portals, which seem to produce a variety of monsters- vampire bats, clay golems, and twig blights are the ones we know of for sure, but we heard buzzing behind another, and saw signs of a gigantic serpent in another chamber.

At the end- the fight went badly. There were golems, and these plant monsters- Clarke, Dimitri, Rodimus, Jyn, Cassian- thank you, all of you, for getting me out of there. I owe you my life, and a great debt.

[But the moment of heartfelt thanks aside... Sabriel made this post public to share information. So gritting her teeth, she presses on.]

Did any members of the Songbird Brigade mention the portals when they spoke of the Silver Caverns? Or are these a more recent phenomenon? None of the stories of the caverns mention them, just that they're full of monsters.

If you choose to enter, bring a cleric- or several clerics. And a bestiary. I'm attaching a map- it's crude, but it shows the path we took, and what we found in each chamber, along with my best estimate of the distance and direction of each passage. There's a central chamber, with ten passages beside the entrance leading away from it. Each leads to a portal we can't enter, that spits out a monster, or monsters. Each portal chamber is connected to the two next to it, except for one where the path leads back to the main chamber, and another that leads out to a forest entrance. I've looked up all the creatures we fought in the bestiary, and attached notes on them as well.

And now for my speculation. It's likely that the portals are the result of the orb, although whether the result of a bargain, the price of a bargain, or simply the result of its chaotic and corrupting nature, I cannot guess. We found no sign of the orb, or any human activity within the caverns- but it's possible the orb is concealing itself, possibly within one of those portals. My sense of magic is somewhat dulled in this form. But the simpler, more likely explanation is that it's not there.

[Although while the orb has certainly corrupted and twisted its surroundings without a bargain... Sabriel would expect it to turn the local wildlife more monstrous, rather than opening portals to summon more.]

[After all the stories he’d been hearing, (most of them quite…well, negative wasn’t the word, but neither was “good”) Finn was almost disappointed to learn that the first mission he’d be going on was to a world that bore no small resemblance to his own, in rules and structure if not quite aesthetics. Almost disappointed; the reality was that he was more than excited, he’s was absolutely stoked, brimming with excitement over the possibilities, and the ability to maybe find his footing in what had otherwise been a pretty rocky first month.]

So we can all agree, this new mission is sick, right? [He assumes this is a broadly held opinion.] Simulation room is fine or whatever but I’m dying to get off this ship and do some real dungeon crawling, you know?

[Finn was currently in the simulation room, in fact. Trying different armor ideas for his new persona, Sir Beef Wellington, hero of Farawayland. All very real sounding.]

I know some of this stuff isn’t exactly natch to everyone’s world, though soooo…if anyone needs any help? I’m pretty comfortable with it. Classes, alignments, adventuring, etcetera. [ After his very public potato incident, and all the many helpful replies and acts of emergency assistance (see; grilled cheese sandwiches), Finn felt like this was the best way he was going to be able to return the favor and make sure no one was caught flatfooted on this mission. Team player. He switches helmets, unseen. ]

We can talk here, or you can come to the sim room, if that’s more your speed! [He was going to be trying different armor all afternoon anyway. Gotta find just the right look.]

I’m gonna be here…awhile.
