[ andy appears, barely ten minutes after joric smuggles her not!corpse out of the arena, and she hurries to share what happened without thinking much of it - thus she's looking a little bloodstained but unharmed otherwise. it's spattered obscenely across her neck, with some flecks into her face, remnant of what could be a throat slitting. ]

Don't ask. I found the fucking orb from Amaryllis Grove.

[ she'll grab a towel of sorts and start wiping down. ]

It took over Jial Bryn, of the Daughters of Twilight. I challenged her to a duel for leadership to see why her family kept winning and what might happen, and it turns out she's possessed now or some shit. Recently infected. It's interested in fucking up this world even more.

The good news is the orb thinks I'm dead and can't share its existence with everyone, so we'll have the element of surprise, whatever happens next. It doesn't know we know about it.

Maybe stay away from the shadow of Jial Bryn until we have a plan. They don't fight fair. Do we know anything about her second in command? Her reaction to the challenge was the only differing one.

That's because it did kill me. I just played dead after I came back, and Joric smuggled me out like an actual body, in case anyone was watching.

[On the one hand, better Andy than someone who wouldn't revive. On the other Natasha doesn't exactly love Andy being killed, even if she came back. She doubts it's fun.

I didn't get to have much of a conversation, but when I asked if it took over Jial or if it was her all along, it said the former. [ then it killed her. so. ]

I suppose it's not off the table Jial tried to make a deal initially, but the orb has definitely taken over for her in some capacity. I fought the orb, not her. It didn't have a real body.

Usually all we have to do to collect the orb if it doesn't have a deal is touch it, right?

[Ivy had been present for those visions, technically, but also deep in a funk about her girlfriend going home so her memory isn't like... the most reliable on that point.]

So probably safe to say there's something going on.

It said it wants to "leave this place better," but also talked about all the pain in the world, so I'm gonna guess our definitions of 'better' differ.

It was like there wasn't a body anymore. I couldn't hit her anywhere, except the head and mask. And when I cracked it, the eyes were black as night. Emerton's eyes were gold, weren't they?

I don't know. I guess it depends on what kind of takeover it actually was, whether it's her body or just the illusion of it. I didn't really have time to investigate more.

Could have been both. It came to this world by happenstance but saw a chance to interfere to suit whatever the fuck it wants next. It wants to leave this place "better" than Jial would have, but 'better' according to the orbs is usually bullshit.

Our interaction was short.
