Coordinators are humans who are genetically enhanced. First generations were born after said enhancements were done in the early embryotic stages. Generations after that, like myself, simply inherited those traits.

The first Coordinators were born from a hope to help advance humanity as a whole as we began to move into space and seek out more technological advancements. So, perhaps surprisingly, no, not weapons. But the differences between what a Coordinator and a Natural are capable of caused a rift in what was an intent to exist together without envy, hatred, fear or superiority. But I assume you know how that tends to go, considering your careful question.

... you are right in that down the line, there were some attempts to condition and use Coordinators as weapons by those who grew to hate us. But thankfully, that program didn't get very far.

Marginally better.

Two wars in roughly four years leaves the "peace" we have now so unstable that it's liable to just give out again at the smallest of pushes.

In my case it's just leaving one battleground for another. Politicians can be just as fucking vicious. Even the ones I'm supposed to work alongside.
