but some things were necessary, and dealing with a whole set of people whose backgrounds and experiences she had no clue about necessitated some information-gathering.

I don't. No. I know that sort of thing can happen, but. No. Nobody should go through that. Especially for something they had no control over.

in my world, at least

I'm not saying that things are perfect here or on missions, depending on where we end up. But. I'm aware there's things for me to work on. To learn. I'm trying to be better on that.

I guess, for me, it's just. My country has been at war a lot. Lots of fighting. I'd rather get along, regardless of differences.

I guess it's helped with me meeting some Ishvalans myself. To get to know them and their stories. Work with them. It's a work in progress. Or something like that.

I doubt Amestris is the only place that's had wars and fighting though. Not like I was involved, I was too young. Even if I did grow up closer to the border.

[But there is the chance that at twelve he could have been sent off to fight. Ed signed up being well aware of that, given Pinako had tried to dissuade him.]

I know I have a ways to go but. Yeah. I'm getting there. Getting better. I like to think. first step is acknowledging your instincts? bias? right? then working from there.
