[In the evening, shortly after the train has returned to, Natasha ventures onto the network. The sound of her voice comes across as pensive and professional.
It's her first time doing this. She tries not to let that show.]
I just had an interesting conversation with Detective Pinot, if anyone would be available to hash out some of the details.
Points of interest include:
The fact Felix Day was also an archaeologist who died some years back in the course of the Days' work.
Unlike Hortensia, the whole family did not meet for his funeral.
In fact, the youngest may not have even met some of the older siblings.
Hortensia Day had a higher public profile than her husband. It sounds like the local tabloids enjoyed playing up the romantic adventure and history angle with the Days' work.
Allegedly, there is a whole 'uncovered history' in the caves and dig sites outside of Craemore.
Feels like some of that might be relevant, in light of what else we've been uncovering.

I guess Pinot works for the museum? Bit like having a homicide detective moonlight as a mall cop.

Pinot does seem to know a lot about them though. Could be it was a professional interest even before today.

They weren't even close to one another.

But you're not wrong about them being weird. We shouldn't expect them to have normal relationships with each other.

So the question is, what's the difference between the two parents' deaths.
Pinot seems to think at least some of them might be interested in the media attention.

However, if the artifact she found is of great importance, there is a greater reason for them to come to the funeral.

If there's some kind of inheritance involved, that's a good incentive to show up. And a reason to kill someone.

You have to wonder if any of the siblings caught on to that.

But wouldn't it be better to alert the rest of the family?

Or, it's possible that they did. At least some of the rest of the family.

It is odd how distant the family is from each other.

It is strange. You'd think they'd still get together for vacations, holidays, something...
Pinot seems to think it's not so unusual to leave your kids at boarding schools all over the place, but you have to wonder how normal that really is.
If they'd wanted to be closer, there are ways.

[Seems like a hell of a coincidence, but other than the fact there's been another death in the family there's not much reason to believe it's not.]
Either way, it's safe to say they prioritized their work over their relationships with their children.
