( there are a variety of reasons he has resisted making this announcement, chiefly among them that he is as fiercely protective of viveca's privacy as he is his own — however, he is keenly aware that such desire does not follow a pragmatic path. viveca must have known that sending them to this world would make her history impossible to conceal. his own tendency to withhold information from others needs to be set aside if they have any hope of bettering this — her — world.
he has spoken on the matter to a few people, those he trusts more than not — but his conversation with sam has resulted in the realization that if viveca is... upset at others learning the truth of her nature, she may as well be so with him. at least he can control the narrative, and stave off attempts at ferreting out further information about her.
thus, his delivery is entirely without embellishment — )
E-23b is Viveca's world of origin. Those of you who have spoken with her on the matter may recall her propensity to say that she built herself — it seems she was human, and as such had a hand in the design of her digital parameters. She is the daughter of the Mayor, Jacques Reman and his wife Alexandra — with whom I have spoken directly — and was the original leader of the Fables known by the animal moniker 'Fox'.
I will not speculate on the circumstances that resulted in her being as we know her, nor explain my certainty — do not ask.
Sam Wilson is currently speaking with the Hare, confirmed to be Callan de la Cruz, and he is the source of our learning of Viveca's identity as the Fox. Presently, he appears to be an ally, and Viveca seemed to trust him — it was the symbol of the revolution that she gave Sam that sparked their conversation. If anyone can think of any information that may be pertinent to our efforts and possibly known by the Hare, please direct your queries to Sam. He is in an unknown location, and his ability to return communication is limited due to the nature of his situation. I do not believe him to be in any amount of danger, however — I would suggest that you respect both his time and his discretion in this.
( the message ends there, for a time. some moments later, he amends it: )
Collectively, we owe Viveca a great debt. I cannot think of better repayment than helping her home in a way that she can be proud of.

stares at my inbox for devouring this
maybe you'll recognize something i missed.
[ with some fumbling, a photograph of a rendered painting will appear, splashed across one of the ximilia's corridors, in a contrast of neons against the sterile backdrop. ]
she mentioned it was in her database before any of us appeared.
from the way she made it sound, i'm not sure she ever wanted any of us to know it was her home.
it happens no worries!!
Presently, nothing about the picture strikes me as unusual. I will study it in greater detail and return to you.
( it may lead to nothing, but at the very least it will have been one more avenue they have exhausted. it pays to be thorough. )
It is possible she only recently became aware of an orb's presence on her world. It may never have occurred to her we would require additional information — and I do not blame her for preferring to keep such a thing private.
( they all have their secrets, after all. viveca is no different in that respect. )
sobs ty ty
[ it's a bizarre contradiction, a strange correlation; viveca's secrecy has only grown alina's trust, now that it's been unveiled to be this. her planet, her home, her family. a far cry from other revelations that have come to a head, in alina's life. ]
but it does make me wonder how many of us have orbs in our own homeworlds without ever having noticed their existence.
my turn for the oops (i have been travelling cross-country on a TRAIN with no WIFI sob)
( hindsight, after all, is staggeringly more well-informed. there are numerous instances in his own world that could certainly have been the work of an orb, even if he does not suspect that to be the case. but it is always worth examining what once took as fact as new information becomes available. )
no rush!! i hope you're having fun .... as i sit here jealousy wishing i was on a train ....
ravka has its own powerful artifacts rumored to grant wishes to whoever asks, but they're not the work of an orb.
[ bitterly, she supposes there must be a bone of truth in that — a wish granted at the cost of her freedom. a bargain struck between the stag and the darkling, in his ambitious pursuit of power. all of that misguided arrogance can be traced back to the branches of his lineage.
she shoves the thought into a compartment, closes the lid on it, and continues: ]
it just makes me wonder if we're going to trip into a crewmate's world eventually.
i have now arrived at my destination which is much fun indeed!
We may. It would be foolish to say it is an impossibility.
There is also no definitive way of knowing whether or not any of the previous worlds were the homes of members of the prior crew, unless Viveca cares to enlighten us.
( he isn't fussed one way or another. he is accustomed to operating on limited information for the sake of a mission, after all. )
victory!!
i'll ask her if she's open to answering, once we get back.

Ultimately, I suppose it is only relevant to our curiosity.
