[ rita appears on the screen, in a bit of a jolly mood, though visibly out of breath as it appears she just finished her chore of leaving audition flyers door to door. but she laughs easily, brushing a loose strand of hair from her face before clearing her throat. ]
Hello, everyone! I'm sure you all know me by now β Rita Farr β and I do want to thank you for your shared participation in my previous grand event, our beloved Town Hall Meeting. Though I want to gather you all again, this time, it's for something a little more fun. Instead of stressful meetings, I will be directing a production of a very popular and beloved Earth play, A Midsummer Night's Dream, written by the legendary playwright, Mr. William Shakespeare himself.
The play is an incredible, fantastical story filled with comedy, romance, trickery, and a little adventure, which I'm more than sure you'll all enjoy. On the back of your flyer, I've included a summary of the play and well as descriptions of its characters. As much of the play takes place in a magical forest, I thought it only appropriate that we perform it in our own delightful spot of nature, the Sunlight Room.
But every play needs actors and so, I will be holding auditions for you to give your best showcase of your talents! I have samples of monologues from the play that you can use for your readings or you can bring your own material. Whatever you think will do the best job at showing me what you've got.
[ she takes a breath, giving a chuckling smile. ]
Now, I know many of you may be ... inexperienced in the way of acting. Some have even mocked the craft. But if you would like pointers or suggestions for the audition process, or even an expert opinion on what roles I believe you could be well suited for, if you're unfamiliar with the play, then I will be more than happy to share my advice as a long-time professional in this business. And don't assume that gender or species or what-have-you matters β all roles are open to everyone.
As for the performance itself, I know it's quite tricky to know our schedule in this place with how uncertain our missions come and go, but I'll be providing scripts as soon as the roles are cast so you can immediately get on memorizing your lines and we will squeeze as many rehearsals as we possibly can. With good fortune, I think we can get it all together in about three months time for a wonderful one-night-only grand performance!
( for more ooc information, please refer to this post for role sign-ups! )

also. why's this william legendary?
no subject
William Shakespeare is known for his plays which typically grasp important themes of morals and complexity of character. It was all done in Iambic Pentameter which is about writing words with a sense of rhythm, so it's all put together quite skillfully.

so poetry? what's so special about his poetry other than that the man can rhyme? [ which is pretty basic part of poetry, is it not? ]
no subject
It's not rhyming, it's having a sort of musicality without music. Bringing a sense of consistent flow in a conversation.
Plus, the plays deal with drama, romance, tragedy, comedy - it's about the storytelling too. I could loan you a play to read, if you wanted.

it has all of that? does it have heroism too? [ that's how you get him, rita. ]

[ He's an able performer, but he's certainly not outing himself as one, with how much he hates the attention. ]

Do you intend to participate?

I decorated bucky's arm.
[ Prior to the fish mission - Rita might have seen that around. Bucky Barnes, who has a black and gold metal arm, but for a few days there was walking around with a mess of clashing neon paint, glitter, rhinestones and other more than questionable decorative "improvements" to the design. ]
it was pretty
[ It really wasn't. ]
no subject
Well, that's just perfect. We need to make a set that's very pretty.
Have you ever painted trees and flowers? The play has a magical forest which means getting to be as creative with lots of sparkle and color.

[ She says it like other people might say 'yes I have work experience with the required skill.' ]
Some, in my room. I had help, but I can do it alone, too, I bet.
[ Please find attached a picture of the walls in Eleven's room. The artwork is certainly far from stellar, but while perhaps not a perfect mural by a long mark, Eleven had fun painting trees, flowers and an assortment of other little things all over the walls to make her room less clinical. ]

what this play needs is a sense of magical fantasy that comes best from a youthful imagination.
besides, she has a soft spot for eleven. it reminds her much of dorothy, a girl well into growing up who could use the aiding encouragement. ]
I think your room is just beautiful and it's the exact kind of thing this set needs. I believe you'll be perfect for the job if you want it.

[ Rita can't see it, but there might be a little victory dance in Eleven's room. This makes her happy, honestly. Being trusted with something so important? Absolutely a bright spot in her month. ]
I won't disappoint you. You can trust me.

[ it's one thing that she's learned well, not only back in the manor with her friends, but in all the months spent here with the other orbers. putting trust into working as a team. ]
And you don't have to work alone. It'll be fun for you to drag in anyone to help you too. Painting is always more entertaining with company. We can even do a group painting party one day!

Parties are nice. With music. It makes the work go easy.
[ Clearly parroted from someone, that line, but it seems true enough. ]

I would be happy to play a part, though I haven't the faintest idea which I am suited for.

What kind of aura do you give out? Do you prefer whimsy or serious?

And a good bit older than most others.

He's the Duke of Athens and sort of the representation of authority and order in the middle of a play all about chaos. His part does work best with a stern older presence.

[Surprise, the blood-covered pizza-eating newbie from the kitchen is no longer covered in blood and knows who Shakespeare is!]
The comedies are great and all, don't get me wrong, but romance-wise Midsummer Night's Dream is a little too neat.
