[The view is of a man passed out in an alley beside a whole lot of cardboard. It's late at night, and he's barely visible. A low fog rolls through town down the street.]

I think this one's one of ours. I remember seeing him on the platform. He's passed out cold, but he has a pulse.

Anyone have any suggestions? Just want to make sure he's all right. This isn't a great time or place for a nap.

He is the nurse at the Forsythe Heights Elementary School. Lay him on his side, or on his back with his head and shoulders elevated. It will make breathing easier while he recovers. Where are you? I will come.

[Go figure, it's the nurse who needs medical attention. Guess he'll prop the guy up with some of this cardboard.]

Two streets east of the main road, behind a bookstore. I'll toss one of these boxes toward the corner so you can find it easier.

[It's all he gives before the connection goes dark. But it doesn't take Wangji long to arrive. He is dressed in a long coat and a heavy wool skirt that look rather out of place with his hat, and at his side is a sword (looking even more out of place), clenched in his left hand. He stops at the end of the alley way to check for their presence and see if anyone else is around, before heading towards them at a jog.]

Clarke. See if you can find her. She knows some medical stuff that she might be able to help? Or one of the other doctors or medical types? At the very least, should probably get you both somewhere safe. Then can look at him and see what happened?

Think he'll be all right. He's doing some sort of psychic thing.

Alright, good. Just checking. I figured something like this is probably best left to people that know what they are doing. I know some bare basics but I wouldn't say I'm that great. Psychic thing?

Yeah. Something about out of body stuff, but -- I can't focus on two in-head conversations at once, sorry. I'll catch up with you afterward.

Out of body what now? It's okay though. No rush. Taking care of the new guy is more important.

But ah. I'm okay. Mostly. Considering how this place creeps me out. Reminding me of stuff I'd rather forget.

Yeah. I know what you mean. I'll be glad once we've gotten what we need from this place so we can leave.

Yeah. It's...bringing up stuff I'd rather not be reminded. That and I have no idea what to really make of this nonsense except the orb is messing with us, the people here.

[He is a believer in science, that there is always some logical explanation. So it figures Ed might not be so much one to believe in ghosts or whatever. He isn't so much one to believe without some sort of proof. As alchemically, scientifically minded as he is.]

[Maybe half an hour later:]

All right. Turns out this guy's able to talk to spirits or something, but he can't do it and use his body at the same time. So he's all right. Taking him somewhere he can lie down more comfortably until he's done.

Name's Clayton. If you see him passed out on the ground again somewhere, touch him and if he's all right he can talk to you in your head. And then tell him next time to pick a better spot, because this better not be a habit of his.

Talks to spirits? So that was it? He wasn't all hungry or exhausted or anything? I guess that's good. I'll keep an eye out though. Good to know. If I do come across him. Just, mostly I guess focusing on getting him somewhere safe. Alright.

[ Well now, if it isn't that fellow he owes a date to. That's what he's calling it, anyway. Yuri's been remiss in getting to that, but there's a more pressing matter here. ]

I know healing magic, if you've got need of it. Looks like someone's already on the way, but keep me posted.

Looks like we'll be all right. He's using some method to communicate with the spirits in town. I'm sure he'll update you all once he's back to his usual self.

But thanks for the offer. It's good to know who's around who can help with medical problems. We've lost a lot of our doctors lately.

Communicating with spirits, huh? That's...different.

[ Amidst so many abilities foreign to his own world. ]

Wouldn't call myself a doctor, but I do have some experience with field medicine. Got to be there when your people need it, yeah?

There's always a need for what you do, doctor or not. Don't sell yourself too short.

No need to worry about me; I know my worth.

[ In the most pragmatic way possible, for better or worse. ]

But what I mean is that I'm not the guy if someone needs major surgery. I think we had a guy for that, but with you mentioning losing doctors...

Yeah. We did.

We'll have to carry on without him, though.

Shame, but not much for it.

Do we know who all on the team's got experience or healing powers, for that matter?

[callada]

I'm not sure. And attempts to create a list of people's powers tend to go nowhere. But it feels like at least knowing who has medical experience or knowledge would be useful in case of emergencies.

I imagine people are inclined to play some cards close to the vest... But we can probably all agree that knowing who can patch somebody up without having to ask around in the moment is ideal.
