Hello, um, I should probably introduce myself. My family name is Kokonose, my given name is Chuuta, and I just arrived here. [He's a little bit rambling right now but this whole communicator thing is kind of weird and he's still getting used to it.]

I'm a college student, but I work in the restaurant industry and have a lot of other cooking and baking experience. So I'll be cooking here, and if anyone would like me to cook for them please let me know. I don't want anyone else to feel like they have to eat raw potatoes because they don't have any options.

If there's anything important I need to know about kitchen routines and rules please let me know, I don't want to inconvenience anyone. [the last thing he wants to do is cause any problems but it's probably inevitable.]

The only other things I'm any good at are sewing and housekeeping, so please let me know if you need any help with that.

[Like... OK as soon as he asks it, it feels like a foolish thing to say. Like obviously... The guy's name is distinctly Japanese, so it makes sense, of course. But the fact that there's someone here who's offering to not only cook, but specifically cook that is... It's almost too good to be true?

S-sorry, I-- My name is Ryunosuke Naruhodo, by the way. It's a pleasure to make your acquaintance, Kokonose-san! I'm rather averse to the effort of cooking myself, so I'll almost certainly be taking you up on your kind offer, if that's alright.

Being averse to cooking is okay, if everyone was as comfortable with cooking as I am, I'd be out of a job!

Is there something in particular you really like, Naruhodo-san? [He caught that reaction, and he's not a hundred percent sure of what it means but if this guy doesn't cook maybe he's just been eating western style food that someone else has been making?]

Please... I guarantee, anything you want to make, I'll be more than happy to eat. My judicial assistant and I have been living in London for the past year... I, I don't mean to sound judgemental, but. They don't even eat sashimi there!

They don't--! Okay, we don't have any good fish for sashimi right now [he does not trust the supplies that much] but as soon as we do I'll make sure you get some!

Oh! A-ah, right, of course... It does make sense that there wouldn't be an abundance of fresh fish available in... Space...

[Hm.]

But, really, please don't go too far out of your way for it! I'd be thrilled just to have any cooked fish that isn't Atlantic cod, really...

[No shade on fish and chips! He loves fish and chips. But.]

[He's feeling kind of paralyzed for all the choices out there. He just loves food!]

Are there any particular dishes that you enjoy making the most? Perhaps our tastes coincide.

I enjoy making just about anything. [he just loves cooking!] But I work at a ramen shop right now, so I guess that's what I cook the most.

[There a moment of hesitation as Ryunosuke runs that name through his head and tries to remember if he's ever even heard it before.]

I... Don't think I've ever had that, actually. Is that some kind of foreign cuisine...?

.... Seriously? I mean, I know I'm really bad at history but I thought ramen's been around for longer than a hundred years. You really don't know what it is? [chuuta don't sound so shocked]

['No need to sound so shocked about it' is pretty much exactly what Ryunosuke is thinking as well. It's fortunate he's not on thought-to-text at the moment, or that would probably be the message that came through, instead of what he says next:]

Then it's probably safe to assume that 'longer than a hundred years' is the very real disparity between our respective time periods, because I promise you I've never heard of it.

Really? So soon? [He sounds much brighter at the prospect.] I mean, if it's not too much trouble... I would certainly like to try it.

It won't be today, but would dinner time tomorrow work for you? I should be able to have everything ready then.
