Hello, um, I should probably introduce myself. My family name is Kokonose, my given name is Chuuta, and I just arrived here. [He's a little bit rambling right now but this whole communicator thing is kind of weird and he's still getting used to it.]
I'm a college student, but I work in the restaurant industry and have a lot of other cooking and baking experience. So I'll be cooking here, and if anyone would like me to cook for them please let me know. I don't want anyone else to feel like they have to eat raw potatoes because they don't have any options.
If there's anything important I need to know about kitchen routines and rules please let me know, I don't want to inconvenience anyone. [the last thing he wants to do is cause any problems but it's probably inevitable.]
The only other things I'm any good at are sewing and housekeeping, so please let me know if you need any help with that.

May I inquire as to your favorite dishes to prepare?

Thank you, Kokonose-san. May I ask what year you are from? I have some questions myself about using the kitchen.
[Which is to say, he is from the year 1900 and has no idea how to use a modern stove or microwave and is reluctant to admit it.]

I'm afraid to say I would need help with most of it. [And admitting that feels like pulling teeth. He just hates not knowing things.] Would you be willing to show me how everything works in person sometime? I'd prefer to be able to cook for myself rather than trouble someone else.

Are you from the past too? I've met a couple people from the past already.

It's surprising how many people don't know how to cook for themselves. Not that everyone needs to be a 5-star restaurant chef or anything. But-
[Well, you know.]
Maybe we should request more instant ramen and hold "cooking" sessions. Heh.
What kinda restaurants have you worked in, Kokonose-kun?

And growing up I lived with my aunt, who owned a muffin shop.

I'm new to baking actually. That sounds even better. How do you feel about collaborating, Kokonose-kun?

[ A pause. ]
I'll eat what you make.
[ Simple and to the point. That's him. ]
no subject
All right. I'll try and have some things made in the fridges that people can eat if they get hungry.

[ Fridges are still pretty new to him. ]

Did, did you just say you cook Japanese food!?
[Like... OK as soon as he asks it, it feels like a foolish thing to say. Like obviously... The guy's name is distinctly Japanese, so it makes sense, of course. But the fact that there's someone here who's offering to not only cook, but specifically cook that is... It's almost too good to be true?
A little too late, he remembers his manners.]
S-sorry, I-- My name is Ryunosuke Naruhodo, by the way. It's a pleasure to make your acquaintance, Kokonose-san! I'm rather averse to the effort of cooking myself, so I'll almost certainly be taking you up on your kind offer, if that's alright.
no subject
Is there something in particular you really like, Naruhodo-san? [He caught that reaction, and he's not a hundred percent sure of what it means but if this guy doesn't cook maybe he's just been eating western style food that someone else has been making?]

I cook Japanese food, but I know a little bit about Western style food too. What kind of food do you like?
no subject
I like lots of things. I especially like spicy food, though.

( some people are slobs, okay. but he understands the desire to be useful, to play to your strengths in a strange place among strange people. )
If you prepare meals for sharing with others, you could leave it in the refrigerator with a note that can be translated by the earpieces that it is free to take.

However, if you know how to make 'corndogs', there is an individual here ( just call her a friend you fuckin' weirdo — ) who I believe would appreciate that effort.

I think I saw an extra sewin' kit in the supply drop, as well. There's usually some extra notions in it, too– needles, thread, buttons, stuff like that.
