Hello, um, I should probably introduce myself. My family name is Kokonose, my given name is Chuuta, and I just arrived here. [He's a little bit rambling right now but this whole communicator thing is kind of weird and he's still getting used to it.]

I'm a college student, but I work in the restaurant industry and have a lot of other cooking and baking experience. So I'll be cooking here, and if anyone would like me to cook for them please let me know. I don't want anyone else to feel like they have to eat raw potatoes because they don't have any options.

If there's anything important I need to know about kitchen routines and rules please let me know, I don't want to inconvenience anyone. [the last thing he wants to do is cause any problems but it's probably inevitable.]

The only other things I'm any good at are sewing and housekeeping, so please let me know if you need any help with that.

Oh wow, that's really American. I've eaten corn dogs a couple times at festivals but I've never made them before. I think I could figure it out.

What are the missions like? I've heard a little bit about them already but I'd like to know more.

（ beep beep brain delivery. itachi sends over a folder with several files, each neatly and immaculately labelled. within it, chuuta will find aggregate mission reports. they have details on the worlds, the people, the languages, beautifully elegant and concisely written. the trajectory of the mission itself, including investigations, findings and the orb's whereabouts. the other crewmembers are not often mentioned by name or deed, so it makes it quite clear the documents are sanitized for public consumption. ）

Missions have been broadly varied, requiring a vast array of skills to accomplish our goals. Many have had a moderate risk of failure or death. However, the crew has proven able to look after their own.

Are there any people here who don't have the kind of skills they need to handle the missions? I mean, I'm not exactly useful in a dangerous situation.

Enough of us are useful in dangerous situations. It will have little bearing on our mission if you are not.

Viveca and Degar saw a use in you. A need of the crew you could meet, a skill or personality trait that makes you compatible with the rest of us. Communal eating, for instance, drives connection and community. That has worth. The ability to bring people together, to communicate clearly, to understand your own limitations, there is value in it all.

You have been here days, and are already trying to help. You will be fine.
