Noticed an influx of new and kinda-new faces over the last few days or weeks or whatever.

So here's my handy dandy welcome board! Recently updated, to keep with the times.

Read it over and get a feel for how this place goes; I'm gonna finish off this coffee before I take any questions.

We do not encourage lawlessness as the opposite of order. We generally maintain standards of decorum. Resource hoarding, cruelty to others, et cetera, are frowned upon. Fighting with willful intent to harm may result in reprimand from Viveca and Degar. It is... uncouth to conceal any important information regarding the orbs from your fellows.

But these are not rules in the sense that they are set in stone, or abided by to the letter.

[ It sounded more like the kind of group he had at the farm than any other organization Sean was a part of before. Cooperative, but independent. It was something Sean really loved, however briefly he actually got to enjoy it. In the end, all of them still answered to someone.

[ Without realizing the connection they already shared, and whatever base of trust that afforded, there's only so far Sean can take the man's word. Still, there was comfort in the stranger's certainty. Sean finds himself unclenching a bit, despite himself. ]

Sorry, I know these are probably weird questions. I've just only ever been one place like this before, and it didn't really last.

They are not weird. They are similar in nature to those I had myself when I arrived.

Viveca, yes. It has taken almost two years for me to associate with Commander Degar beyond a purely utilitarian sense. I would not say I know him well, and I doubt we will ever be 'friends'. But he is a good man.

[ A smart move, at least for now. It's clear from every word, every action, every punctuation mark that Sean wasn't settled into this new life. He was a cornered dog, hackles up and ready to strike or run or do whatever he had to do to get away if he sensed things weren't right.

Changing his regret was enough to make Sean stay here by choice, no matter what kind of place it turned out to be. But getting comfortable here? That would take time. ]

By calendar date, it will be two years by late October.

But time is not especially linear aboard the Ximilia, and speaking strictly of lived time I have been a member of this crew for twenty-three months.
