Noticed an influx of new and kinda-new faces over the last few days or weeks or whatever.

So here's my handy dandy welcome board! Recently updated, to keep with the times.

Read it over and get a feel for how this place goes; I'm gonna finish off this coffee before I take any questions.

I don't think anyone will give you a hard time if you leave some questions blank. Aside from the birthday one, unfortunately.

Is there much combat to be had on these missions?

Some. Less than you might expect, but still a very non-zero number.

Usually that comes at the end of the mission.

Then I will be prepared for such a thing.

Are we permitted weapons on the missions? Or is there an understanding we will acquire them there?

It depends on the mission, but I think we're usually allowed to bring things down to some degree or other.

Mostly a matter of not wanting to bring anything with us that would stand out—if there's no advanced tech on a world, we don't want to go down there with guns or tasers.

Do we visit non-contact worlds primarily?

（ because. uh. ）

I am green. That might pose a problem if we are encountering primarily human species with no knowledge of space travel or other worlds.

Probably won't be a problem. Most of the worlds we visit have diverse alien species present. If for some reason we won't fit in as we are, modifications are made before the visit...

For example, one orb was in an underwater civilization.

I can't say I'm a fan, but I do see the benefit. The last time it happened we had a fair amount of control over the changes too.
