Noticed an influx of new and kinda-new faces over the last few days or weeks or whatever.

So here's my handy dandy welcome board! Recently updated, to keep with the times.

Read it over and get a feel for how this place goes; I'm gonna finish off this coffee before I take any questions.

So you've met him, then.

But yes, I mean him.

I guess two lawyers in a crew this size is pretty noteworthy.

[ Especially considering they're related, but there's no need to go into that. ]

It is a rather specific career.

But then again, we've got all sort of pilots and scientists and doctors. Many even from the same universes - many familiar with one another, despite the scope of the universes this station draws people in from.

The variety is always useful for the team.

I imagine it helps to have some people who you know will be friendly with each other from the get-go too.

That's not always the case.

I had someone from home here, once. It was someone who's completely obnoxious! Who wouldn't have been anywhere near my first choice of people I'd want to see here!

Yeah, of course, there's always a risk of that. I can think of a few people I wouldn't want to have here, but I sure hope they'd see no reason to bring them either.

It does raise a lot of questions, that potential.

Yeah, I think I'd rather not worry about that until it happens.

I'd like to think it wouldn't happen, that if Viveca and the Commander have some power over it, they wouldn't just let someone completely shitty stay.

Of course, they'd be thrown out into space by us I'd it came down to it.

But the orbs do love their chaos.

They love their chaos? Does that mean it attracts them or do they create it?

A bit of both. It's chaos that they feed off of, and they make sure any contracts made with them give them as much of it as possible. Which can be a lot, given how large a single ripple can grow.

So they're sentient? If they can make contracts, I mean. I've gotta admit, it seems like everything about the orbs is pretty vague.
