Good afternoon, Ximilia Station.

By now I've had some time to get accustomed to the situation here and what we're expected to be doing, but there's still a lot left unanswered. However, I don't want to wear someone out with too many questions, so I've decided to try something different. Anyone who responds to this post, I'll ask one question I have about life here, our missions, or our purpose.

The room full of sunlight - does someone need to maintain that, or is it a courtesy offered to the crew?

Are we getting paid for our work here, or is this for our room and board, and the payment is the promised undoing of our regret?

We get paid for the jobs we take while undercover on missions. But here on the station money doesn't seem to be a concern.

Are there actual plants aboard this station, or merely the illusions in the sunlight room?

I think some people gather seeds and things from some of the worlds we visit. I know it was definitely the case when we visited a world that was about to be destroyed by an asteroid. You may need to ask around to see if any of them have gotten things to grow.

It really is an all inclusive sort of contract.

Where's the catch in it, though?

A courtesy. Technically, it's an incredibly life-like simulation: I once fell in the water there and departed completely dry.

But you can always add to whatever is in there.

I'm pretty sure the orbs are the catch.

how many potential versions of the same place there might be represented
I'd like to get a better idea of where most of the crew sits in terms of combat ability but that can come later

Well, I can't promise I'll have an answer, but I'm happy to try and help.

Are there restrictions on that?

[not that they want to make anything harmful. but a comfortable chair to watch the sunset in wouldn't be bad.]

I'm no researcher myself, so that makes two of us.

The more polite types will usually use simple words if you ask, though.

That's definitely not what I mean. The orbs are part of the work. I mean more akin to the required hours of work per week or arbitration clauses when you're inevitably injured in the line of duty. Where's the catch?

A number of them, actually.

Does anyone manage the various aspects of a retrieval team, or are we left to self determine? I can see from past dossiers how it's been done, I'm merely wondering if some people are calling tactics.

Primarily any information I can regarding our purpose, but anything branching off from that in general. Some people have been at this for years, and I wouldn't expect them to wait for me to catch up.
