so uh question
what's on the north end of the station? anybody know? I mean the rest of the place is cool and all but going wherever I want is kind of my whole thing these days and I can't get there which is
weird
or jump between universes anymore
I mean HEY it's not like I want to leave or anything! if whoever's in charge is watching this network which I'm 100% sure they are haha please don't kick me out. just saying, the whole multiverse thing was kind of my ~thing~ and now it's not and it's weird/spooky that they can even take that away to begin with but
yeah anyway
north end of the station is a big ol question mark
also does anybody have some spare yttrium lying around? anyone from the science/phd crowd? maybe some liquid nitrogen? no reason why

The North Wing is also where the previous crew's quarters are located. We have been allowed into that section of the station during emergencies, but. It's generally off limits for a reason.
Miss Viveca is the one in charge of the network. But if I had to guess, I'd think any power changes that you might be experiencing are more likely a side effect of the Orbs. Granted, I've never had any supernatural powers myself, so I'm hardly an expert on how that works. I just know that when things turn strange, you can usually blame the orbs.

(hey Viveca!)
sooooo these orbs, right? the other guy said they warp reality but it's got a price. or something. what's up with that? sounds like a wishmaster thing
kind of just heard the "fix your regret" part and jumped, guess I should've read the fine print huh

[ himself, he's having a little trouble with the idea of going back normal. yeah, that's everything he's wanted since the accident, and he'd probably be content slithering back into his old job and life, but at the same time... he can't exactly ruin Spider-Man's life as regular degular Johnathon Ohnn. would probably just get bagel'd again. and the memory of how people have treated him isn't just going to go away, either.
hmmm. ]
so they got their... wishes? the regrets thing I mean.
also hi. what's the username mean I did not do great in my Japanese elective

うちは is 'Uchiha'.

well if you're not gonna help a guy out "uchiha" can you tell me anything else about the last crew? I'd look around for a terminal or database or something but I'm a busy guy
[ he's basically been living in the lab, he means. also scaring people with his portals, only a teeny bit for fun, but you know how it is. ]

me being a scientist aside it's great to ask questions! usually. also other guy says they all died horribly so I kind of wanna avoid that, assuming I can even still die at this point
would rather not find out

really not giving me kumbaya team buddy vibes here. I'm getting "if you were on fire and I had water I would drink it" vibes actually
[ which like, fair. he's himself. also very possibly no longer flammable in the first place but the metaphor holds kinda. ]
could've at least told me they all DIED

Their deaths were undone. The information serves little purpose to us now except to satiate unnecessary curiosity. If you need to be told the orbs are dangerous, there are many other examples one could use beyond that alone.
Srry I got buried and let this sit for longer than intended!
...Um. Yes.
They did.
[He'll just let that one sit a sec so you can feel BAD ABOUT YOURSELF FOR MAKING THAT JOKE, BUDDY.]
Please understand that this is a complicated and tragic story, one that I'm not about to impart the grim specifics of. But suffice to say: yes, there was another crew here before us. Something-- I think it's still not entirely clear what, but we can likely blame the orbs for this as well-- went wrong with the Commander of the station at the time. He turned on the crew. Many lives were lost, but one of the survivors was able to strike a deal with an orb, and had his lost comrades revived and returned to their own worlds... Sans their memories of the Ximilia.
THAT is the sort of power the orbs hold. My understanding is that each one is actually part of a greater whole, and the idea is that if we gather them all, whatever force is restored in doing that will be able to grant us what we seek without incurring such a cost. But on their own, each orb craves chaos, and is full of volatile power. Deals can be made with them on an individual basis, but as you have already heard: there's always a price.
NO YOU'RE GOOD
[ maybe it's kind of telling that he's just like eh about said horrible deaths, which is maybe not great? actually? it's sad, but the scientist in him says well yeah, you're risking your lives, should've thought about that the same way he had to face those possibilities working with the collider, around all the heinously toxic or unstable or otherwise dangerous stuff at Alchemax. he hadn't exactly planned to die in a horrible lab accident or something, but it was an unignorable possibility. these things happen in the pursuit of greatness.
maybe he did, actually. technically. he doesn't even share atoms with Johnathon Ohnn anymore, just memories and regrets. ]
so these orbs are genuinely just bending reality at this point, huh? reversing death - rearranging atoms, mimicking an earlier point in time? copenhagen theory says spacetime is a constant background system outside of the locii of any other system but this is trending more towards the general relativity theory
might need to pen some calculations on that one tonight. today. whatever time it is in the void of space
they're probably not gonna let me run any tests on an orb huh
[ tl;dr nerd shit. ]

He doesn't regret doing it. But he also can't help but feel like Itachi is probably looking at this and judging him harshly. He's at least imagining and worrying that's the case, even if it isn't true.
Meanwhile: Nerd shit is happening, and Ryunosuke's eyes just glaze over while he frets to himself. He literally doesn't understand anything that's been said here, except for that last part.]
I can say with complete and absolute certainty that running 'tests' on the orbs is out of the question, yes.
