Right, that was enough excitement for one mission. Does anyone know why Viveca didn't teleport us out as soon as someone took the orb, like what happened last time? Or was it that Cheri- or Ruvia or whoever she really was- needed to give up ownership, and stealing it wasn't enough?

[If that's the case, they'll need to be ready to bargain and persuade on future missions, rather than hope that whoever they steal it from simply gives up hope of regaining the Orb.]

If anyone's injured- I know how to heal. You might need a few days of rest to make sure you don't disrupt the spells, but you'll mend more quickly than you would have otherwise. And if you're one of my students, feel free to come to the infirmary to help.

And- Apparently the Commander is real, and on the station. But what he said about the Orb growing vicious... are they shaped by the bargains they make, and the people that use them?

[It looked different from the Gyeonje Orb too, red instead of golden.]

Yeah, shit, I guess she did. The orb might also have saw more, and I feel like shit saying this, but it might have saw more value in So-Yeon's bargain too. Maybe thought there was more for it to gain, you know?

Though that makes me wonder just what they gain. More power to grant more bargains or if there's some end game these orbs are trying to meet.

( Eddie also has this morbid wonder and, in fact, can't help the breath he takes again before speaking: ) Do you think the orbs would so far as to try protecting them if they thought it in their best interest?

Yeah— it's like one of those deals with the devil sort of things. One where something can mean like fifteen different things depending on how you want to read into it.

Chaos is so fucking broad though like I've dealt with chaos brought on a fucking clown that ate kids and lived in a sewer. Black Friday sales in New York are chaos too and so is the heat death of the universe.

Or bringing people dead in their proper worlds back to life in this world. ( It is said quietly, almost thoughtfully before he sighs. )

You think maybe the orbs are the cause? Like maybe they're the match or the first domino that falls, sparking the possible beginnings of something that get them someone they can bargain with when things spiral out of control.

I guess I'm thinking like— what if they find someone weaker to bargain with that starts the whole process? The sparks, I guess knowing that they'll get bigger and better bargains out of the whole situation?

I don't know. Maybe I'm putting too much thought about the sort of shit I saw back home into things here.
