[ So, Finn waited an entire whole day before getting on here. There's a lot of Concerns(TM) that he'd like to voice, some of them to a few individuals in private, but he's managed to boil all of his thoughts down into some sense after yesterday. Which is where this comes in. ]

Hi, everyone. First of all, my eyes are fixed. I can see again. If you don't know what I'm talking about, don't worry. Everything's fine now.

Anyway, this was the second mission in a row that we've had to fight. Considering there's only been two missions, it's likely this will be the norm. We're working a lot better as a team now but we should have plans in place ahead of time, especially if we get split up like that again. Know each others strengths, weaknesses, get some offensive and defensive strategies for a typical battle. I just think it's something we should discuss as a group. I'm familiar with battle tactics and can offer up any intelligence that might be needed.

In the meantime, I've noticed that some of us here don't know how to fight or use most weapons. If you don't want to fight, that's okay, but these situations will probably keep appearing. It'll be best if you know how to defend yourself. If anyone wants to learn self-defense or how to properly use firearms, you can meet me in the training room in the morning. If there's enough interest, we can make this a more scheduled thing.

[Which leaves the Darkling to wonder, did Finn opt for honesty because this is the kind of man he is - a trusting one- or because he has seen the future and knows how this will play out.

Was this the truth, as Finn sees it, or is it the best kind of lie, the one rooted in the truth but twisted in to something more malleable. Something kinder, but keeping the advantage. What if the power, the Force as Finn called it (Finn's brand of Small Science, history repeating itself in a galaxy far, far away) allows him to see the future. Not just a few seconds, but the broad strokes of his decisions to guide him along.

What if Finn sees the threads made at the making at the heart of the world, and sees the origin and the intention behind the universe?]

You already know my strength, I Summon shadows and I can greatly amplify the Small Science in others. I am the General of the Second Army of Ravka and I have led it to victory against our enemies multiple times. I am also the only one willing to build a safe place for people like me. Like us.

My weakness- [there's a noticeable halt, a hard stop in the voice as it carries across the network] I need both hands to summon. The... witch hunters use this to their advantage when they capture us.

[He doesn't mention Alina, his weakness made flesh, and the thing that he wants almost as much as he wants Ravka. The golden light of her Sun and the rage in her smile, or how it warms him like nothing else in the world. How she is the only thing in centuries that made him stumble in his quest to carve out a safe place for Grisha.]

Should you want to explore just what your Force can do while amplified, I am willing to help you. In the spirit of learning how to be a team and to build on the foundation of trust.

[ Finn groans at that first quip. He just wants to set some sort of example around here. And it's not all that complicated, man!

Besides, Finn never bothered to mention his back injury. (It's possible he just forgot about it, though.) But his honesty and example setting appears to pay off when Kirigan shares part of himself in response. Finn's... actually pretty surprised by the gesture. ]

Thank you for telling me... [ He clears his throat. ] I'd like that. We may need to do this out in the field someday. Best to try it in a more controlled setting first. Thank you.

I don't have much to give back except things you probably already know, but if you need extra help with it, I can teach you how to fight with one hand in case someone tries to exploit you in the future. [ Don't need your power to be deadly. ] If nothing else, I'm always around for sparring.

[In more ways than one, since Finn had been willing to look in to the Darkling's inhuman face, and still offer to help. Had touched him and cleared his mind enough to get further away from the very people the group had been trying to help.

Without Finn, the Darkling might very well have torn through everyone until someone put him out of his misery and the orb would have been lost.

He already knows how to fight, weapons or not, but the Darkling hums in agreement.]

I would like that very much. I will be sure to wear gloves, and it would perhaps be best if you did too. I cannot control how or when I amplify someone, and all it takes is physical contact. Since you would rather explore this in a place less likely to spill us all in to space- [He lets the sentence hang, speaking for itself, the dangers of touching someone like him.]

Maybe I will see you there, I tend to go in the mornings. It's quieter then.

[ Okay, true about the space thing. Finn's smiling all the same, though. ]
