[ So, Finn waited an entire whole day before getting on here. There's a lot of Concerns(TM) that he'd like to voice, some of them to a few individuals in private, but he's managed to boil all of his thoughts down into some sense after yesterday. Which is where this comes in. ]

Hi, everyone. First of all, my eyes are fixed. I can see again. If you don't know what I'm talking about, don't worry. Everything's fine now.

Anyway, this was the second mission in a row that we've had to fight. Considering there's only been two missions, it's likely this will be the norm. We're working a lot better as a team now but we should have plans in place ahead of time, especially if we get split up like that again. Know each others strengths, weaknesses, get some offensive and defensive strategies for a typical battle. I just think it's something we should discuss as a group. I'm familiar with battle tactics and can offer up any intelligence that might be needed.

In the meantime, I've noticed that some of us here don't know how to fight or use most weapons. If you don't want to fight, that's okay, but these situations will probably keep appearing. It'll be best if you know how to defend yourself. If anyone wants to learn self-defense or how to properly use firearms, you can meet me in the training room in the morning. If there's enough interest, we can make this a more scheduled thing.

Finn! That's great news! Did the magic that affected your eyes just disappear all of sudden?

You're right about the planning ahead, but maybe we all need a few days to recover from the last mission. A lot of people got injured. that said, I'd love to train with you one day.

As soon as we got back, I was able to see again. I'm not sure how it worked. Not really willing to risk it again, just in case.

Yeah, I know you're right. It's just-- I know a lot of things went badly on this mission that didn't have to. We do need to recover. I just don't like sitting idle.

[ There he is. Peter is so glad to see that Finn's eyes are back to being their pretty dark selves, without that depressing veil that ruined his eyesight. Peter winks at him, because he can, and to see if he will get Finn to laugh. ]

Maybe the magic only works on the planet Braccia? Either way, I'm just happy that you're better.

I know how that is. Too much time in our times and we start to think about all the things we don't enjoy thinking about too. I need to take it easy for a few weeks but if you want a cheerleader while you train...

You are right in that it would be helpful to know the strength and weaknesses of our fellow comrades, but how do you suggest we talk about this.

We could talk about like this if people were willing. In-person's just as well, too. However people are comfortable discussing these things. The point is that we talk about it, at all.

Are you willing to talk about your weakness, Finn? Or your strengths.

I'm no good with most technology. I'm bad at lying, sneaking, any sort of espionage. I have a habit of trying to do things myself without asking for help when I need it. I have issues with authority and following orders from people that I don't know and trust. Sometimes, I second-guess and doubt myself. I always put my team's safety and the safety of civilians before any mission objective, some people consider that a weakness. I also have a habit of going too extreme, taking no prisoners, and letting my emotions largely control my actions. Not to mention that I have some sort of all-consuming power that I don't understand or know how to control.

On the other hand, I'm an excellent marksman. I know how to use almost any weapon and I'm good at hand-to-hand combat. I'm also good at strategy, tactics, battle formations, intelligence, things that typically happen behind the scenes. I've been in training for as long as I can remember, operated as squad commander for several years, been in field combat for over a year, participated in negotiations with world leaders, operated behind enemy lines, been to my own execution twice and escaped both times, and lead the ground forces of an army to destroy a fleet of Star Destroyers of over 1000 strong and win a war that's spanned over half of the last century. Then there's this power I have that currently allows me to predict a few seconds into the future and know intelligence that I shouldn't. If trained correctly, I could be able to interact with people and objects telepathically, make people do things they don't want to do, force myself into their minds, and mentally move objects of any size with any amount of force necessary.

Speaking of planning ahead, I asked Viveca about having more time ahead of missions to organize ourselves, since this last time we were given the brief and then minutes to scramble before we were sent to the planet. She's going to see if she can try for a day next time.

Clara and I will keep supplies in order so that next time people can actually have time to pick them up before we have to go anywhere.

That's a good idea. We definitely need more time to prepare, especially if the following missions require as much planning as the last one. We still should be prepared if we get the same amount or less time, though. It's something we can try to work on.

What's this rumor I hear that you left someone behind back in Braccia?

"Someone", huh. Newton and I have already talked it over. It wasn't a decision I wanted to make, or that I made lightly. It was also never intended to be malicious.

Making that decision means I was in the right place at the right time to keep Cheri from killing Kovacs, and we all got out alive.

Nothing's perfect. I'm hoping I don't have to make a choice like that one again, though. I'm glad he's all right.

Just tell me why you did it. And it wasn't to save Kovacs. You wouldn't have known that you would have been able to save him at the time.

But even when you trust people for years, when you work with people who came together not for selfish reasons but to help others together... he remembers how they all broke apart over where they had to draw the lines. And Ximilia Stations is fracturing, with no such unifying lofty ideal to make them cling on.

Sam knows there's people here who'll walk over his corpse to get what they want. ]

I know. And I hope you know I'm with you. I'm just saying... an itemized register sounds nice in theory.

[ Finn knows they're here, too. That he's fought with some of them, trusted them with his life, even considers them a friend. But even if it comes to that, he's not going to turn around and think of them as the enemy. An idiot, maybe, but people aren't this desperate for something if it's all that selfish.

And this? It's part of it. Because Finn doesn't know that Sam's with him. ]

It's not even about that. No one has to share everything. Hell, I don't expect them to. [ Finn sure didn't tell Kirigan about his busted back now, did he? ] It's about becoming a real team and working together, about building trust and sharing our experiences.

The more we share and understand and learn from each other, the harder it is for one of us is to stab another in the back or leave them behind to be beaten and killed, no matter what they're trying to fix back home.

I think it's a good idea though to learn more about each other so we can be more prepared and work together more effectively for these missions. I know how to use a weapon but as far as fighting goes, I still need a bit more practice.
