[ turns out? space doesn't give a single fuck about your circadian rhythm. or maybe insomnia is just that attached to her that even the absence of a sun dictating her internal clock doesn't faze it, like an old friend you wish would just forget you already.

one night (?) late into the early hours (???) marta finds herself drifting out of the room she's come to assume will be hers for the indefinite future, passing through stark white walls with all the sterility of a hospital, but none of its familiar chaos.

she's still getting used to the earpiece. still getting used to hearing other people's voices in her head. she doesn't mean to add another in the void, but one of her own thoughts blares out too vividly as she stares out into an actual void: ]

Well the missions can be a lot when trying to obtain the orbs. We barely made it out of the last one so it's not surprising people make the most their downtime there.

It's sounding like every mission is dangerous. It's not always life-or-death is it?

Well it's definitely seeming like that from my experience but who knows maybe the next one might be different.

A relaxing one sounds a little too hopeful, I guess.

Yeah. I figured given what we signed up for, there had to varying levels of difficulty to all of this. [it seems too good to be true for her to believe otherwise at the moment]

The more I hear about these orbs, the more dangerous they sound. It makes sense acquiring them wouldn't be so easy.

Yeah. I know it's probably not something anyone wants to hear after just arriving but the good thing is that we have each other on these missions and we all have our skills that have helped with getting the orb too.
