[There's a bit of a hesitant pause, before;]
I do feel like we can say with a relative amount of certainty that there is some sort of higher power in Taeum, presumably the Highest One that Angrial refers to, and they seem, based on what Finn and I sensed, to have an Orb. I'm not sure what that means for reports of the orb potentially being in Sedorum, but frankly, this whole situation is bullshit and if there are in fact two orbs or two parts of one whole orb that we have to figure out a way to combine, I wouldn't be surprised.
In any case, this is Trafalgar Law, reporting in that Daisy, Finn, Cora and myself have been branded traitors and taken into custody for attempting to breach the area where the orb is contained. I don't have access to my abilities and I assume the same goes for the other three.
[A long pause where Law presumably just silently ruminates on the fact that he has ended up in Heaven Jail and really of course this would happen.]
This is not a request for a rescue, simply something to keep in mind as work to find the orb continues. As well as a test on my part to confirm that our comms are still functional from in here.
[ETA: Despite what Law says there is now an OOC plotting post re: potential jailbreak ideas.]

That's a big thing, though. That must mean the world to them, that you were willing to find a place for them. All I did was look after you, but you've got - how many again?
[In a way, he knows he did what he did partly because Sengoku took him in, too. So Rosinante can't claim to take credit, not really. One act of kindness leads to another.]
no subject
[So obviously if Rosi had the freedom to do so he could have collected more wayward children if he'd lived!!!!]
no subject
[Much better than the battleships crewed by hundreds of Marines, or even the pirate gangs of eighty or so which always seem so prone to infighting and chaos. Nineteen. Just enough, almost.]
Twenty's a nice round number, though.
no subject
[Yes it's definitely about the ship and lets not talk about how soft Law is in how many weirdos he's collected.]
no subject
[Since that's what he meant by his previous comment - he'd make crewmate number twenty, if they work all this out right. Daydreaming of better times helps with the whole jail thing, at least for right now.
Maybe he'll find a chance in their between-mission downtime to use the simulation room to learn a little about submarines. Got to be a better use of his time than burning rice.]
no subject
Ah. Yeah, of course.
[He's of course thought about it even as he's tried not to. But now that they're in jail there's not much else to so, so...]
... You'd have to take orders from me if you joined the crew, you know.
no subject
[Though yes, that said, calling Law his captain is a little funny in his head. It'll take some time to get used to that idea, because while Law is every bit the capable, skilled individual he's grown to be, sometimes Rosinante still can't help but see that struggling kid who he needs to protect.
But those things don't have to be mutually exclusive either. Isn't it the crew's job to protect their captain, and each other?]
We'll see how it turns out. But even if we escape Minion together alive and well and manage to follow along the path you've otherwise already kept for yourself, I wouldn't want to be any sort of leader, myself. I might be a Commander, but it's all just formality.
no subject
I hope it's possible. If we get to remember the current course of things it shouldn't be too hard. I guess if we don't it's not like I'll remember the crew I'm missing, but... Until we know more, I'm not willing to throw them away even in my mind.
[In which case he's going to keep talking as if they would stay the same because he's stubborn.]
Jean Bart was a captain himself before he joined us, so you'd hardly be the only one. Ermine will inside you wear the same uniform as everyone else, though. He's pretty fixated on the idea of a "unified aesthetic" for everyone besides me.
no subject
He smiles as he listens, and hopes it comes through well enough in his voice.]
Not the first time I've had to wear one. What's the uniform?
no subject
[Sure Bepo's is different since he's the first mate and it's not like Rosi could also be the first mate but... listen, he has to have special privileges.]
no subject
[A boiler suit. Well, they're probably pretty comfortable, right? It's a wild departure from what he's used to wearing, but that doesn't mean it's bad. His life is due for a lot of changes.]
no subject
[Given his own iconic hat.]
no subject
All right, another question. Can I smoke on a submarine?
no subject
Uni and Clione would know better than me, but I feel like the answer is no, based on how the air has to be recirculated when we're submerged. That said, we don't typically stay submerged for extended periods of time. The Polar Tang can sail like any other ship, and it has a small deck.
[He pauses, before adding.]
That said, it wouldn't hurt for you to cut back a little, Cora-san.
[AS A DOCTOR, HE HAS TO SAY THIS.]
no subject
[All right now he's just being petulant, but there's a reason he asked about smoking before a lot of other things. Withdrawals aren't fun.]
no subject
[AS IF HE WOULD LET ROSINANTE DIE.]
cw: the eye one is the worst tbh
[That's right, it's not just the standard surgeon general warning, it's these grotesque things that the Ximilia keeps picking up for him. But hell, he's not blind and he's not having any babies and his lungs are fine, right?]
no subject
[Law's been learning about the human body since he was like five so this feels obvious to him.]
no subject
[Rosinante is quite smart about a lot of things, he really is, but also he's a product of a very mixed bag when it comes to life, and a whole bunch of Marines haven't always set the best of examples.
Anyway, he believes Law, but he'd like an explanation.]
no subject
[DEADPAN.]
no subject
Yes. The stuff that makes you cough and gasp and die. Doesn't quite seem like the same thing, does it?
no subject
no subject
So what's moderation, for smoking?
[This whole conversation is making his withdrawals worse, he swears. He'll have to smoke like eight at once when he gets out just to make up for it.]
no subject
[Well. He likes to consider himself a realist. He has to keep in mind how much Rosinante normally smokes.]
For you? I don't know, five a day?
no subject
...
Guess I'd burn myself less.
[So this is not a "yes definitely going to cut back," but. He might think about it. Maybe.]
