You'll all have to forgive me taking a minute to organize this, but we don't have "networks" like this in Fódlan. It takes getting used to.
But anyhow. A little bird - or rather, a whole flock of them - had an awful lot of chittering to do about the Day family.
The way I hear it, they've got a tendency to live beyond their means. Mashall's wedding was more extravagant than he could afford, Terra and Helios tend to party more than they can afford... You get the idea.
Rumors you might take with a grain of salt, but there's more. Apparently Jove's business was failing and he must not have a sterling reputation, because people suspect he had a financial stake in Hortensia's death.
Which...honestly, only fuels the suspicions I had already about the killer's potential motives. But then, where I'm from, that wax in his hand really would only be used to seal letters or documents. And wherever did whatever it was fixed to wind up...?
Anyway, make of it what you will, but that's what I've been hearing. The locals don't seem to look on that family too kindly.
[ooc: Feel free to thread-hop if you want! And as this falls within minutes of Andy's post and he's new to network whatnots I'll be assuming he sees it after relaying his findings. ]

Which raises some questions, along with what you've learned about their financial state.

That certainly does make me curious. Their financial circumstances being well-known could make them easy to exploit... And it sounds like someone gave it a try.

Without obvious leads, that leaves collectors of shady goods and those who'd be keen to sell to them as most likely suspects.
Hate to say it, but because someone's got to know he had it in the first place, his siblings could be involved. Maybe they said something to the wrong person, or maybe their own financial straits were just that dire. People do ugly, lamentable things in desperation.

Of what I heard, nothing really stuck out as suspect regarding anyone else. Still, the Days aren't exactly universally loved.

I'd say you're right about that. From everything we've found so far, there's a pretty clear direction this looks to be going.
That just leaves who decided to take it off his hands. The fun part.

Especially for relatives who don't seem all that close.

Some of them apparently never even met. Maybe the maternal bond wasn't too deep either, to want to hold on to her things.

Wouldn't be surprised if you're right. They don't sound like a tight-knit bunch in general, with little exception.
Could be possible to leverage that for information. Or more, but for our purposes, information would do nicely. The sooner we wrap this up the better, yeah?

We've got a bit of a limited range thanks to the train ride, so it'll wrap up soon either way. But this strikes as borb inspired murder within the family, even if they don't actually know what the orb is or does.

[ A thought he makes no attempt to expand upon, not that he considers why he thinks such a thing any great secret. ]
Family would make sense. There's certain information only they'd be privy to, a high chance of catching each other with their guard down, and more to the point, the lot of them seem to have financial problems of their own making. That can breed a certain kind of desperation.

[ so many times. too many times. ]
My money's on familial homicide, though the who is going to need more digging. Hopefully those of us tracking down any of the siblings will get some pertinent info on that front.

Hopefully, we sew this up before there are any more casualties. I'll keep an eye out, for my part, as well.
