[The volcano has erupted and all hell has broken loose. Unsure of where everyone is, she speaks frantically to the network.]

I can get up there!

[She shouts, both in real life and into everyone’s earpieces. Hopefully they can hear her.]

One tiny little problem with that is I’d probably burn to death.

[OOC: Instead of just throwing the suggestion in the event log, I figured this might be a good way to ICly figure things out? This is the info I got from the mods in regards to Daisy’s powers when it comes to orb retrieval.]

[Daisy looks towards the ashy sky, blinking back the tears that threaten to spill over from the overwhelming stress.]

I know. I just—

[That she can’t stop Andy either. Especially when no one else has come forward so far with a better solution. But it’s not just that, it’s the stupid feelings she has towards Andy that she desperately wishes she could rid herself of. Especially when she knows that nothing will ever happen between them. Shouldn’t happen.]

[ well now she'll have to lock it up. good thing she figured out how. ]

I'm not going to jump to my death in a volcano for funsies, Daisy. If I lived my life for all these long years without taking a single risk because one day an injury is going to stick, it would be difficult to say I lived at all.

[ and she's kind of surprised at herself for saying so. she doesn't know if it's going to reassure daisy or scare her more, but it comes to andy easily in the light of everything. maybe it hasn't all been a waste. ]

There is no getting off this island without the orb, and I'm not going to let someone else jump into lava when there's no chance of them coming back. You can't tell me you wouldn't do the same if you had this ability. I don't want to lose you in any of this either, and you're far more breakable than I am.

We're a team, and I need you to trust me. I can't erase your worry but I can promise you I don't have a death wish. [ she'll be careful. she won't be blasé. ]

[She’s right, about everything. It doesn’t make it any easier to here though, especially when she can’t face her in person right now.]

I do trust you.

[She has to fight not to tell her to be careful, but she manages to keep from saying it.]

I have a quicker way of getting you and Joe up there.

[ she can hear the tone and emotion in daisy's voice and it makes andy suspect there is more going on - but they unfortunately don't have the time for her to press. ]

[Daisy pinches the bridge of her nose, wishing she could come up with something better. Safer.]

I’m going to give Gwen a boost and she’s going to grab you and Joe and bring you up to the volcano. Natasha and Yelena have grappling hooks they’re willing to give to try and make grabbing the orb easier.

[ less lava touching potential, even if andy starts to plan for other contingencies too with the new steps. ]

There's the crabs too. We can use them to avoid touching the lava. Joe and I are good at what we do, Daisy. We've been at it a very long time.

Not sure how much the crabs will go along with that.

[Daisy points out, not even thinking about ripping their shells off as a possible solution.]

I know. I just worry about you.

[The words are out of her mouth before she can stop herself and she quickly adds,]

[ oh. andy does not miss any of that - the emphasis on you, the hurriedly tacked on inclusion of joe. it explains a little about how daisy had acted the other night at the campfire, and andy - worries, a little, about what it could mean. ]

I'm not trying to dismiss your worries. It's what happens when you care about someone.

The plan is reckless, but we're something like experts on recklessness. Besides, I've been itching to ride a crab, so I'll make them go along with it.

[Relieved when Andy either doesn’t notice, or doesn’t draw attention to her quick correction, Daisy looks to the crabs nearby.]

That’s a weird goal to scratch off the bucket list.

I don't really have a bucket list. [ she has done so many things. that's why the lava crabs are exciting! ]

But the crabs are new. And potentially a layer of safety. [ she's just gonna reiterate that again. ]

[Despite the severity and urgency, she laughs at the image.]

This is such a stupid plan.

[But they’ve got nothing else.]

[ she smiles at the laugh, even though daisy can't see it. ]

I've succeeded with stupider. Besides, we seem to have all the right pieces to put this one together.

[ real friendship is indirectly calling each other stupid. ]

I'm ready whenever. So is Joe. The sooner we get the orb, the better for everyone.
