So, has everyone settled in alright? This is Viveca, by the way, for those who haven't talked to me yet.

It's going to take a while to track the signal of the first orb and charge the teleportation platform enough to transport all of you... so while we wait for that, I figured you could get to know each other a little better. You know that the success of your missions depends on you knowing each other and being able to work together, right?

Anyway — I happen to know of this game called "two truths and a lie". Apparently, it's a great way to get to know more about people. All you need to do is think of two true facts about yourself, and one that's not true. Let others see those, and they'll try to guess which one is the lie.

It's so easy a literal child could manage that. So have fun and make some friends... or at least learn more about your teammates!

A metal prosthetic. It fits right into the nerves so I can basically move it like a regular limb, just without the finer motor skills to say, write with that hand anymore. I got it when I was eleven. But my usual mechanic isn't here at least that I know, so. I should probably figure someone else just in case.

I've never heard of something like that before. I'm a medic so I don't think my skills would fit what you're looking for but I'm sure you could ask around if anyone is a mechanic.

Well, yeah it's more. Like a combination I guess of medical and engineering knowledge needed, given how they connect to the nerves and need to be made specifically for each patient. I might ask around. I just want to try and be prepared? If possible.

Yeah, I definitely get wanting to be prepared.

I wouldn't know much about the mechanic side of things unfortunately. That's something one of my friends would know more about than me if she was here. [and so far she hasn't seen any sign of raven or any of her other friends either]

I'd rather not be caught out with it being broken if possible, in at least knowing someone can fix it for me if something were to happen.

I dunno if I wish my mechanic was here or not. Depending on the missions, this could be dangerous.

[That and. Well. Regrets. He doesn't want to have Winry crying over him again. He'd promised her. Next time she did, it would be because he and Al were back and had their bodies back to normal. Not because he went and got injured and his auto-mail is destroyed again.]

Yeah, I get what you mean especially since we don't know what we're up against with the missions yet.

Well if you find a mechanic, I can help out with the other half of that with my medical knowledge.

Just seems like a good idea if I can have someone -- or two ready to help if I need it. Being without an arm is a pain.

So were you still wanting to make a guess at which one was the lie for this game?

Yeah, if this can be called 'meeting' exactly.

Gonna go with the panther though. Space still seems possible? Just. Way off from what I figure back home and a lot of people have siblings. Not that fighting off wild animals is that uncommon either I guess.

[Look Ed has a healthy respect for what women are capable of, considering the likes of Armstrong, Izumi, Winry and Riza back home.]

That one is true actually. I was able to kill it but I didn't get away unscathed either.

But you did it. The same way Teacher goes on about her training up North and that bear.

So out of the other two. No siblings, then?

Your teacher trained with a bear?

Yeah, no siblings. They don't exist where I'm from.

She fought a bear during her training in surviving the mountains up North.

Don't exist? So what, no brothers or sisters at all?

[Why? He's not sure he could imagine life without his younger brother Alphonse by his side. Even if they were apart at times it was only briefly. He'd have to get used to it here but still.]

So basically it was some sort of survival training?

Yeah. Well I have one friend who does but it was against the law on the Ark for anyone to have more than one child.

Well. Surviving. Learning about life. Alchemy. Training our bodies as we hunted to survive and such.

Against the law? Why? I can't imagine or even remember not having Al around.

Alchemy? What is that?

Population control so that we could sustain living on the Ark between managing rations and ensuring there was enough oxygen for everyone over the years.

[chrysology]

Alchemy is a science. Understanding and analysing what something is made of, deconstructing it and then reconstructing it as something else. Or being able to fix it assuming you have all the pieces.

But. Rations I get if there's only so much in the way of food but. I guess oxygen would be a concern in space. What happened then if someone did get another sibling?

A science? You have that sort of training when it comes to that? [it doesn't make any sense to her how survival training fits into studying the subject]

The person would get floated. Basically thrown out of an airlock into space.

[chrysology]

Yeah I dunno on her teacher and why that was her training to survive up North at Briggs. But I guess she repeated that with her training with us just in a safer space on the Island near where she lived. She didn't let us use alchemy that whole time but made us learn to survive without it.

I have no idea what an airlock is but I assume you mean they leave this place to just be out there and die?

Why would you need that sort of training with alchemy?

Yeah, it's basically exactly that, the laws were pretty strict and not just for that either but for any crime committed.

To appreciate alchemy and go back to the basics. To learn the basics of alchemy and the theory of it. I'm not sure someone who isn't an alchemist would get it.

Hard to imagine there wouldn't have been some exceptions though. I mean, not that were allowed, but. That some might have had another kid and just tried to hide it or something. I guess I'm just not used to this idea of there being no siblings at all.

You're right, I don't get it. We just have nothing like that back home. [if she were to see what he means in person that would be something else entirely but for now, it's a little difficult for her to comprehend]

Something like that did happen actually. A friend of mine, the only person I know who does have a sibling back home. It was discovered though and it led to the same result in the end.

Might be easier if I were to show you in person.

Oh? The same result -- so, their sibling was killed?

[Floated. However she put it. He's still trying to grasp this. Would it get to be that much of an issue here? With them arriving like this? He has no idea how many, what the limit might be for this space station and how all this works exactly.]
