I've got an idea- I'm not entirely sure if it will work, but it's worth a try, unless someone can suggest an alternative way of helping the Hivawei.
[Because stopping the asteroid doesn't seem possible without using the orb, and even Sabriel has to admit that doing so would be risky.]
I have Remi's notes, because I was there for that mission- they describe a means of opening paths between worlds. I've never been able to make it work, but Doctor Strange and I think that if enough magic users work together, and combine our abilities, we might be able to make it work, and send any of the Hivawei who don't wish to die with their planet to a place they can survive. A place like Gyeonje, not Badrock or E-23b.
[Sending the Hivawei to either of the latter would just be condemning them to a slow death, rather than a rapid one.]
So I'm asking anyone with any magical abilities if they're willing to help find a way to get the Hivawei off this planet, even if the attempt to reach Remi fails. But if he does answer our call- hopefully he'll be willing to help.

If it's an option we don't ultimately end up considering safe enough to use, or that the Hivawei don't want, so be it. But better to work on it and answer these questions as we go than to lose the chance because we spent too long on What Ifs and not enough time on spellwork.
[ A beat here, vaguely aware of his tendency to steamroll and not wishing to drive anyone away, so quickly, before there's quite a silence long enough to allow her to speak: ]
—I'm not dismissing your concerns, we'll discuss everything at length if we get this off the ground. But first we need to know if we have enough help to make it worth spending our time on. The more strength we have to combine, the more chance we have of having good reason to discuss logistics.

[ she finally sighs, and even if he can't see her at the moment, there's more of an indication that she's pressing her fingers to her temple than she was before. ]
... fine. But I reserve the right to withdraw from these efforts if it becomes clear that our plans will only amount to fruitless results.

You're not bound to this. If you'd rather commit your full attention to tracking the orb, that's what you should do. You have no obligation to decide otherwise if you think that's where your skill is best spent.
[ It's not a criticism, he's just not here to bear the brunt of her frustration should things not go their way, or should her resignation turn to resentment. From what he's to understand, they're all going to be spending an awful lot of time together from here on out.
Does he want her help? Yes. But not at the expense of her own sense of what's right. ]

[ she's not being overly boastful about her power; it's just a statement, coming from her. ]
That said, if the time comes for us to divert to prioritizing the orb's retrieval, which is still the primary aim of this mission, then perhaps this idea will need to be abandoned by more than just myself.

[ To make that clear. To make this a choice and not an obligation. He knows portals too, but it'll still take as many of them talented in the area as possible to give them greater hope of synchronising what power they have with the framework they've been given. ]
This isn't a matter of bolstering the power of somebody who already has the capacity, though if that ends up proving a more efficient way to go we can pursue it. The spell we have belongs to Remi, pertains to crossing universes, and doesn't operate in the way I imagine either of our magic does. But we'll still be better off, the more of us who understand what it takes to travel that far with only magic as the vessel there are.
And perhaps. We'll see.

[ and she does — even if she hadn't been fishing for that particular detail from him, it's always beneficial to have more of an understanding of what other orbers are capable of. she's already tabling the rest of the conversation along those lines for another time — when she can learn more of the intricacies of what, exactly, his magic can achieve. ]
Then I think we can both agree that it will take quite a lot of power to cross a distance of that magnitude. To not even cross over space, but possibly even time, if the plan is to attempt it between universes. More than any one of us is likely even capable of alone.

[ That about summarises the predicament they're in perfectly, in fact. ]

[ this, at least, she can have an almost wry tone of voice about. ]

[ The time stone would be incredibly handy to have around right about now. Remi's spell will just have to do. ]
It's a good job we've got many heads and not just one.
[ They can do it. Little over a week left, but that's the one good thing about ends of the world - they're not a deadline you can afford to miss. ]

[ she does manage a huff of a laugh. ] Unfortunately, these heads often have more difficulty aligning with each other than not.
[ which leads to much in the way of debate, something yennefer has little patience for. ]

[ Her tone had implied a certain familiarity with the context of her question... there's a story swap in order.
It's reassuring to trip so easily away from the brink of verbal battle, knowing one another's stance and moving past it now there's nothing else to gain from butting heads. ]
That's a hurdle for later. For now, we focus on seeing if our magicks can align with any more ease than our minds.

[ it's rarely an imposition for her to discuss her ability, and beyond that, it feels... preferable to set a time after all of this, rather than trying to initiate it in the midst of things. ]
You'll forgive me if I don't take the more optimistic stance.

[ And if all this ends in a way that leaves them in the mood for storytelling, all the better. ]
I will. See you later to give it a shot anyway - we're in a glade just outside Hivawa when you've got the time.
[ And he drops her his location. ]
