[It's Curious Robot o' Clock.
And as he has tended to do lately, he has a lot of questions with regards to humanity (or just - general sentience as an organic being with free will).]
I will need a name. Please advise.
It is part of the orb's request, that my 'personal goal' requires I allow someone else to name me.
What is the importance of a name, to a human? I've used a name someone from my universe called me, to help conceal my identity; it did not feel like it belonged to me, but it served its purpose temporarily. Instead, I have a serial number associated with me. Something equivalent to an I.P. address to monitor me as an individual within Skynet...
What does it mean to you? Your 'name'?
Do you care for it?

I do not want to be called Teddy.

I think a number of humans may be offended at the concept.
[Seeing as he was created to destroy them, you know.]

How about Derick?
[ Turns out most names refer back to "gift of X" but Bucky is trying to avoid just calling T-800 by a number. ]

... Derick is an acceptable name. I will file it as the name that you refer to me as... Bucky.
[So awkward and unnatural. But he is truly putting in effort!]

Derick it is, then. Guess I can't just call you Ricky suddenly, for short?
[ Yeah, Bucky is not helpful here. ]

[You've been given permission, Mr. Barnes.]
... I am not sure how to be any other way.

[ He appreciates it! ]
That's fair. I can't imagine being another way, myself. Not anymore.

You are implying a change you cannot reverse.
[He's curious, is all.]

I'm...becoming okay with it.
