TEXT. @PARKOUR
hey, so, full disclosure: this is super weird for me. i've never done this before. like, classically when i tell people bad stuff happens so i sorta don't tell anyone, but uh, here goes:
so i've got... superpowers. it feels like?? that's not that big a deal around here. some people are like 9 ft tall and can do magic (???) and have full robotic wings so it's just nbd but also for me it kinda is a big deal so it's a little scary to be upfront about this but i super duper did just liveblog my spider wall-crawling to the entire team during the last mission pandora's box is way open so yeah i have superpowers
( and apparently he's no better at trying to send brain messages, RIP friendos, his brain is just Like This )
but anyway, uh... since there are a lot of us, maybe if you wanna, we can... share??? nothing more than you are comfortable with, obviously, and trust me if you wanna hang back and stay quiet i get it. back home, i can't share this stuff. it gets people hurt. i was just thinking here, maybe... and since there's a ton of you like me or not even like me but different too, i don't know. maybe it'd be good for us to know who can do what? what we're all capable of? things we should look out for?
i guess i should go first. i, uh... can crawl on walls. everybody saw that (SIDEBAR that is my bad for that shaky camera work if i gave you motion sickness i am so so so sorry). i'm pretty strong too. and maybe be careful trying to touch me or throw things at me bc my senses make me react if it seems like a threat and i'm not super good at turning it off. i'm trying though. i have webslingers too, for flyin around?? so that's cool
uh... that's it? ama? i'll try and answer... or you can tell me anything, if you wanna talk shop. if you wanna keep things dl, private works. trust that i get it, this feels so viscerally uncomfortable, like those went to school in ur underwear dreams, only i really did it, holy snickerdoodle, i really hope this does not blow up in my face

it was last mission yeah. hi. you must be new. because... because i definitely sent that to the entire team, fml
i don't turn into a spider. one or multiple. and i do not command spiders either, that is apparently a common connection people make. it was just... normal, i think? er, not really, but it wasn't ancient either so normal final answer. what is an ancient spider btw???
no subject
So you just have the abilities but don't turn into one? Huh, that's strange! People who have eaten a zoan devil fruit gain the skill to turn into animals, partly or fully, back home. One of my father's subordinates has eaten a spider-spider fruit, and the model is ancient... something. It's just an animal that isn't as common! So ancient and mythical zoans are rarer. Like Marco the Phoenix!
I actually ate a fruit like that too, a mythical zoan... though it was one of the dog-dog models, so I turn into an okuchi no makami.
no subject
zoan devil fruit. i haven't heard of that. eating it gives you powers? do u know what kinda powers based on which one you eat? that's super crazy. cool crazy though
dog-dog models. idk what an okuchi no makami is but i'm guessing some kind of dog? for real??? is it weird to ask if i can see? kinda maybe right but idk if you feel like it i really would like to
1/2
Yes, devil fruits are what give you powers, there's three types: logia, paramecia and zoan. I guess there's books that show what each fruit looks like, but most people don't have access to anything like that so you just eat a fruit and hope it gives you a good ability... or you eat it by accident, like I did! I was just hungry and didn't know what I was eating. I was so mad, because now I can't swim! Since devil fruits take your ability to swim away.
Oh, it's a mythical wolf! It's the guardian spirit of Wano Country. Hold on —

Here! This is the hybrid form. I can also turn into a full wolf, do you want to see that too?
no subject
how come u can't swim???
( oh. oh okay. video. since he did ask to see, that's fair!! )
Holy sh.... ( that trails off, because Peter is a Good Boy, and doesn't swear. ) Wow. That is so cool. Do you know Rosinante? Not to be like, do all super tall people know each other, but also... I mean... nevermind, forget I said that.
And yes, 100% yes, I wanna see that too. This is amazing.
( his stream of consciousness is transferring to conversation now, rip )
no subject
[ said like it's normal, because it.... is. for people in their word, at least. ]
Oh, I do! We're from the same world! We've never met there, but he was one of the first people I met here. Isn't it funny? I hear no one else here is from home, though.
Alright... [ the video blurs for a moment as yamato forgets to focus on actually transmitting it, but it clears up in a short moment and shows a wolf with the same colours, same horns and same white-and-purple nio-daisuki. ]
no subject
( Peter isn't even the biggest fan of swimming, but never getting to do anything ever again is just kind of sad! )
That could have been a swing and a miss and maybe it should have been, but that's cool. And you aren't the first to have someone from home, a couple of people on the station are like that.
( Peter gets off the track of shared worlds when Yamato transforms. that is the coolest thing ever, frankly — and maybe those space doggos just got him, deep down, but, ) Is it gonna offend you if I say you look adorable? Because if it would then I won't. Wait, can you talk like this? You can't maybe just text me back if you can't talk in that form.
( the benefits of brain messages!! )
no subject
[ takes all the fun out of taking a bath when you can drown in it :c ]
I can! And I guess you can say that... people are usually scared of this form, or surprised! I don't usually use the full wolf form unless I need to get somewhere fast. The hybrid form is better in battle.
no subject
( Peter what the fuck would that even be. who knows. but there's that question, and he asked it anyway. )
Well, uh, if you were trying to throw down with me I'd probably find it more scary. I don't really know what happens if I get a limb chewed off and I'm not super dying to find out. That makes sense though, wolf speed is always gonna top bipedal any day.
no subject
I have never encountered a substance like that... but if you do, we can try!
[ they laugh, and peter can see them lifting up a large kanabo club that they're apparently just carrying around with them at all times. beaming, they respond: ]
Don't worry, you should be scared anyway if you were to fight me for real! I'm pretty strong. [ if "pretty strong" means being able to withstand heavy artillery fire with minimal injuries and knock out full-size dinosaurs with one blow. oops. ]
no subject
( that is, in fact, a large kanabo. he's impressed. )
I trust you. I'm glad we're teammates and hopefully not required to throw hands any time soon.
( he does not wanna get whonked by that. would spider senses help him dodge? hopefully. but just in case, pls do not bonk him Yamato )
no subject
[ a long pause. ]
What's a holodeck?
[ sorry peter... ]
no subject
It's, uh, ( wow. how to explain it to someone who has never heard of it. someone who wields antique japanese weaponry and is from a similar world to the guy who didn't know what bullet trains are. ) It's like a dream. Only you're awake. And a computer generates what you see, instead of your brain. And you can manipulate it, kinda, instead of just... watching it?
This might be a situation where it's easier to show you than just tell you.
no subject
[ said with all the bluntness in the world, stated as a fact. sorry peter, all of that literally flew over yamato's head just now. ]
But if you can show me, maybe then I will! Where does this holo-thing happen?
no subject
It's here on the ship. I can show you whenever. Maybe now, if you want?
( what else has he got to do, besides waiting for Quill to make dinner and bumming around the lab? answer: not much. so, he can be Yamato's tech informant. happily! )
no subject
[ this sounds like fun, and more importantly, informative, and yamato does love to learn new things. ]
no subject
How about... cafeteria? And we walk over together.
( much easier than trying to give directions in a same-y space station. )
no subject
[ the upside of doing part of the conversation in video is that they know who to look for. and so as soon as peter appears in the cafeteria, yamato jumps up from where they were sitting (on a table rather than a chair) and waves. ]
Peter!! You came, great!
no subject
he still will if there's not a Guardian of the Galaxy calling the shots at the dinner table, though.
Peter ambles up, offering a smile and an awkward wave, because what should he be doing with his hands? he has no idea. ) Hi Yamato. Wow. You are... Tall. Like I knew that? From the video. But still. ( extremely tol. noted. Peter isn't particularly short, and even he has to take note of the difference. )
no subject
Compared to so many here, yes! It's weird, because back home most people I'm around are either as tall as me or taller. Not on all islands, I hear, but in Wano! And Father's most important subordinates are, too, for the most part. It's weird, actually, that everyone's so short around here!
[ maybe it's because of the station is so small, too? ]
