( when the video feed flickers on there's a teenager on the other end, pulling her blonde hair back in a messy bun, cheeks puffed out and looking every bit as frazzled as she feels. this is way out of her comfort zone. not just having to use such advance tech and being off world, but this; ready to be open and honest right out of the gate. and she can't help but wonder if Giles would be annoyed at her approach or relieved she's asking for help when she knows she needs it.
shaking her head and letting out the deep breath she'd been holding in, Buffy smiles at the camera and whoever might be watching. )
Okay cool. Now that I know I managed to get this working correctly and not have it go kablooie, hi. I'm Buffy. ( there's a small, awkward wave of her hand that accompanies the greeting. ) And I'm gonna be completely honest with you all, I have no idea how to work a lot of this tech. Or better yet, I'm kind of afraid to. So I figured I'd ask if there's like a crash course... ( a pause, as she looks horrified for a moment. ) I probably shouldn't use the word crash while we're in a space ship, right? My bad. Sorry. Anyway. Is there like a basic beginners guide to using all this stuff or no? Cos me and tech? We don't often mesh and I was interested in using the simulation room but I don't wanna break anything. Which, if you're thinking, 'she doesn't look like she could break anything but a nail', I promise you I'm a lot stronger than I look.
Which leads me to my next topic. One I probably shouldn't bring up but, seeing as everyone else is sharing, might as well jump on the bandwagon, right? ( oh god. oh god. oh god. please don't let this blow up in her face. ) I'm a Slayer. If you have no idea what a Slayer is then good. Cos you shouldn't. Well. Normally you shouldn't. ( secret identity and all that. ) Basically I slay things that go bump in the night. Vampires mostly, demons too. All of which exist. At least in my world they do. And I'm the one that gets to... ( is she making a stabbing motion with her hand? she sure is. sorry. ) slay them. So if you wanna know anything about the supernatural, I'm your girl.
