TEXT. @PARKOUR
hey, so, full disclosure: this is super weird for me. i've never done this before. like, classically when i tell people bad stuff happens so i sorta don't tell anyone, but uh, here goes:
so i've got... superpowers. it feels like?? that's not that big a deal around here. some people are like 9 ft tall and can do magic (???) and have full robotic wings so it's just nbd but also for me it kinda is a big deal so it's a little scary to be upfront about this but i super duper did just liveblog my spider wall-crawling to the entire team during the last mission pandora's box is way open so yeah i have superpowers
( and apparently he's no better at trying to send brain messages, RIP friendos, his brain is just Like This )
but anyway, uh... since there are a lot of us, maybe if you wanna, we can... share??? nothing more than you are comfortable with, obviously, and trust me if you wanna hang back and stay quiet i get it. back home, i can't share this stuff. it gets people hurt. i was just thinking here, maybe... and since there's a ton of you like me or not even like me but different too, i don't know. maybe it'd be good for us to know who can do what? what we're all capable of? things we should look out for?
i guess i should go first. i, uh... can crawl on walls. everybody saw that (SIDEBAR that is my bad for that shaky camera work if i gave you motion sickness i am so so so sorry). i'm pretty strong too. and maybe be careful trying to touch me or throw things at me bc my senses make me react if it seems like a threat and i'm not super good at turning it off. i'm trying though. i have webslingers too, for flyin around?? so that's cool
uh... that's it? ama? i'll try and answer... or you can tell me anything, if you wanna talk shop. if you wanna keep things dl, private works. trust that i get it, this feels so viscerally uncomfortable, like those went to school in ur underwear dreams, only i really did it, holy snickerdoodle, i really hope this does not blow up in my face

( spider metabolism, it's a hell of a drug. Peter forgets and purposefully ignores plenty of meals when he's in the middle of something, so any downtime on the station is punctuated by lots of grazing. he misses the werewolf dude that kept the cafeteria so well stocked. hopefully he's okay. )
Yeah, sure. ( there's been a lot of newcomers. Peter accidentally introduced himself to a bunch of them with unprompted superpower talk. it's fine. ) Whoa, whoa — really? Wait. The one that remembers you? Or... she remembers you right, she's gotta, or 100% you'd look like someone kicked your puppy right now. That's... that's ... that's amazing! It really is. It hurts my head trying to contemplate how that is possible but it is more than amazing. I just don't have a better word.
( while Peter Parker might not be a huge hugger, considering how dire the conversation about Gamora had been... he will do a slight bump of his shoulder into the taller guardian. )

[ He knows how easy it is to lose track of time and find yourself awake at 4 am or hungry in the middle of the afternoon because you forgot to eat. But Spider metabolism, like the super serum, makes for a good excuse to be always hungry. Quill only gives Peter a nod and doesn't question his eating habits. ]
You should tell me the next time you're hungry. I always cook for more than one person and leave the extra food in the fridge for anyone to grab. [ He lived with the Ravagers and then with the Guardians, so cooking for his team is not new. He might not be the greatest cook, but his food is edible and tasty enough. Quill watches the realization appear on Peter's face and smiles back, amused and relieved all at once by the positive reaction. ] Yes, the one that remembers me. My Gamora. She made it obvious after our first conversation, I'm very lucky.
[ Quill himself can't almost believe it, he's so relieved he could cry. Again. He welcomes that bump to his shoulder and lets out a soft laugh. ]
Thanks, Peter. I'm sure you'll see her around, a green woman is hard to miss, or I could introduce her to you myself.

I'm always hungry, ( Peter laughs, because if Quill was going to stop and make something any time he felt peckish the guy would never get to leave the kitchen. ) But if you make something and feel like feeding me I will always show up. Scout's honor.
( he puts a hand over his heart to prove said honor. despite the fact he was never a boyscout. spider's honor is more fitting, maybe. )
Even I would notice that, yeah. ( and Peter is denser than poundcake when it comes to social awareness. his eyebrows tuck at the mention of getting properly introduced. ) I feel like that might be slightly embarrassing. But I'll introduce myself, for sure. I really wanna meet her.

I was like that at your age, even without any power eating away my reserves. [ He grins in response to that laugh and Peter's reply. ] All right, just let me know if you are allergic to anything. Or would your spider-sense warn you that cheese is not safe t eat if you were lactose intolerant?
[ The real important questions are being asked, ladies and gentlemen. ]
No problem then, I'm sure she will like you. [ It's virtually impossible to not like Peter Parker to some degree, Quill is sure. His smile falters a little after that. ] I also wanted to mention that we were thinking of moving in together. She's gone through a lot lately and between you and me, I also don't like to keep her out of my sight for long. I'm not still fully convinced she's here for real, it seems too good to be true.

( patè. purees. strange emulsifications. microgreens. he is not into that sort of food, even if he can eat it. he just doesn't want to.
Peter does laugh at the inquiry about spider senses and bad food. ) Uh, not so far. But my aunt was pretty meticulous about keeping the fridge tidy and I was pretty consistent about eating leftovers before they could get bad so I guess it isn't impossible. ( he'd rather not be fed spoiled food just to check though, Quill, before you get any ideas. hell, before Peter himself gets any ideas, because that's absolutely the level of stupid experiment he would be curious about. )
Oh. You think so? ( Quill had only explained so much about Gamora, and mostly how much he missed her. Peter is hardly certain he's that easy to like, though he would like for someone so important to Peter Quill to like him at least a little. ) Um. You don't have to. Introduce us. But uh, maybe? ( Peter figures he will be slightly awkward either way, why not double down on it with proper formal introductions? ) I'm sure I'll meet her sometime along the ... roommate thing... Oh. You're probably gonna want me to find a different ceiling to sleep on, huh.
( look. a little late to that realization, but... it seems like a fair guess. Peter doesn't seem crushed or upset, though, just accepting over the obvious. )

[ There are more kids and young teens than before in the station, and Quill worries about how they're getting food because at that age he was a disaster in the kitchen. He should make extra- extra food and leave containers labeled with 'free for grabs' in the fridge. ]
Sure, if the opportunity doesn't present itself, I'll introduce you to each other.[ Gamora might be on the serious side, but she's not mean, and she's probably most likely to trust people that Quill already hangs out with. ]
What? No, no, Peter I'm not kicking you out. [ What sort of bad friend does Peter take him from? Quill is both touched and a little sad that Peter offered that so quickly. ]But I'd like to spend more time with Gamora, and she needs it too, so we were thinking about moving to another of the two people rooms. So like...the room next to this one? The station isn't so big, you're not getting rid of me so easily. Besides, you need to stay here and look after Charlotte.
[ Quill motions to the black spider balloon he gifted the other man for Halloween, still present in their room. ]
no subject
jokes on you, PQ, Peter is just ... way too good at putting himself out of the way to make other people happy. )
No, no — you're not putting me out. There are a bunch of rooms, man, it's okay. ( Peter is a transient creature in that none of the station will feel like his or home because his aunt isn't there, it doesn't matter to him if he's this room or another one. he will miss Peter as a roommate, for sure — the guy was a good listener, pretty patient, and had a bunch of seriously cool galaxy guardian stories. )
It's less work for me to go, I don't have much. But us spiders stick together. Char goes with me. ( don't feel bad for him, Quill, Peter is going to end up rooming with Buffy the Vampire Slayer, possibly. love that for him. )
no subject
[ Quill won't tell Gamora about Peter's powers, is what he's trying to say. They might be dating and share everything, but being Spider-man is one of Peter's secrets, and he understands that. ]
It's the same amount of work for me to move, which is to say, not a lot. And people already know you live in this room...but if you are sure, SURE? If not, Gamora and I will just find one with a double bed.
[ Quill feels bad for kicking him out, he doesn't want Peter to feel like a burden or anything! But ah, rooming with Buffy would be amazing too. You go, boy. ]
You know you can still contact me anytime you want to talk, right? Even if it's late at night. [ He nudges Peter's side with his elbow, gently, and smirks. ] How I am going to fall asleep without your incredible stories about that one time in third grade where you called the teacher 'mom' ?

( so, it'll probably come up to any teammate around, whether Peter actively mentions it, someone else does, or he just... doesn't hide the spider superpowers thing anymore. it's terrifying and liberating all at once — Peter has never been so known before. it's the entire opposite of his existence at home, an island of responsibility and secrecy. it's a rare chance here on the station, part of the orbers. it is hard not to wonder if he made the right choice, but, he also hopes it'll be worth any potential difficulty if only because he doesn't have to be so alone here. )
...That's a good point. You'd probably want a room with better ... you know... accommodations... ( he's embarrassed now. the pink on his cheeks is mirrored on the tops of his ears. he likes Quill a lot, so it's a bit like when he witnessed his uncle playfully spank his aunt when they didn't realize he was home. nothing wrong with it and yet also quietly mortifying.
it's a relief to talk about something else. Peter seizes onto that option instantly. ) Probably a lot better, man. And at a much more reasonable hour. But I'll keep it in mind, I promise.
no subject
[ It's good to know that Peter doesn't see it as a huge secret anymore, Quill thinks it's something that will only help him in the long run. Keeping secrets, even if t's for a good reason, it's stressful and only causes trouble. ]
I did ask Viveca if there's a chance for us to get a double bed instead of two separate ones, she's working on it. [ Quill, unlike Peter, is grinning from ear to ear and making no attempt at easing Peter's embarrassment. Ur cute, Peter. ]
Sounds good, then we're all set. I was worried about telling you did because I do like being your roommate, I'm going to miss you. Do you want to hang out? We could go to the kitchen and finish having proper lunch.
wrap here? on yours?
( Peter offers a heartfelt tilt of a smile. PQ has never struck him as anything other than a decent dude, it's just nice to be reminded of how solid a guy he is. he pays a lot of respect to a secret that must seem silly to a guardian of the galaxy, and Peter appreciates it. )
Good. Cool. That's great. Good for... Good for you, ( Peter agrees, both meaning it desperately, and wishing he'd melt into a spider puddle so he could seep through the vents and go to a place where he wasn't having this conversation. moving on! distinctly! right now!!!!! ) You don't gotta miss me though, dude, I'll still be hanging around. Right? Haha. Spider puns.
( Peter bumps slightly into Quill's arm, offering a little quirk of a playful smile. look, don't feel bad — Peter is a big boy, he can handle a change of roommates. the big picture is, he's happy for Quill. he really is. he's determined not to think of the bittersweet of PQ finding the girlfriend he's so desperately been missing here, when the likelihood of him seeing Gwen again feels officially nominal. impossible, maybe. )
Are you seriously asking if I could eat? Please know the answer is yes. Always. Of course. ( turns out the answer to whether he'd like to hang out with Quill is about the same answer to whether he'd like to eat. really, it's two birds, one stone. )
Sounds great, and yep, it's a wrap.
That was awful. You're lucky I love these sorts of things. [ He really does, and Quill delivers some terrible puns of his own on occasion, something peter might know already. The playful bump and the reassurance do help him feel a little less guilty about moving in with Gamora, but he will still hang around peter plenty because he likes it and because he doesn't want to fully leave the teen to his own devices. That would be lonely. ]
Silly of me to ask, you are right. Come on, I'll make you something good.
[ Quill gestures to the door and there's a smile on his face as they start to head towards the kitchen. He might not be the greatest cook out there, but he tries, more so when it comes to doing something for his friends. Chatting and eating is a good way to spend the rest of their day. ]
