The orbs- we know that they're sentient, that they're malevolent- by human standards anyway, and that they're pieces of a greater whole. They certainly all feel the same, magically speaking, and seem to have similar powers.
But different pieces seem to behave differently- part of that's probably just different circumstances, because they're at their nastiest when dealing with people who have little knowledge of magic. But unlike most entities fractured by an outside force, not every piece is interested in becoming whole. Did the orbs break themselves?
[They want chaos, and by being spread out, they're in a better position to cause more of it, despite being individually weaker.]
Does anyone here have prior experience with entities- or artifacts- similar to the orbs? Degar's keeping them contained, but maybe there's something else we can do to help, beyond gathering them up.
