[There's a bit of a hesitant pause, before;]

I do feel like we can say with a relative amount of certainty that there is some sort of higher power in Taeum, presumably the Highest One that Angrial refers to, and they seem, based on what Finn and I sensed, to have an Orb. I'm not sure what that means for reports of the orb potentially being in Sedorum, but frankly, this whole situation is bullshit and if there are in fact two orbs or two parts of one whole orb that we have to figure out a way to combine, I wouldn't be surprised.

In any case, this is Trafalgar Law, reporting in that Daisy, Finn, Cora and myself have been branded traitors and taken into custody for attempting to breach the area where the orb is contained. I don't have access to my abilities and I assume the same goes for the other three.
[A long pause where Law presumably just silently ruminates on the fact that he has ended up in Heaven Jail and really of course this would happen.]

This is not a request for a rescue, simply something to keep in mind as work to find the orb continues. As well as a test on my part to confirm that our comms are still functional from in here.

[But that also could have been anyone. Still, it's intriguing. And such a shame he can't just ask Sengoku right now.]

And having a mole in Kaidou's crew would be invaluable, especially since Wano isn't affiliated with the World Government. Having someone there who could relay information back... Well, I guess whether it's him or not, I could see someone taking on that role.

[There's a spy in most large pirate crews, because there's always someone willing to take that risk either for pay or out of loyalty to something other than the pirates, whether that's the Marines or the island the pirates are based out of. He won't point that out, though - mostly because it feels insulting to imply someone on Law's crew might have taken that sort of opportunity. And, well, maybe he hopes that everyone on Law's crew is loyal to him first and foremost, anyway.]

But if X Drake is a Marine, why would he let you out?

[He can speculate, sure. General chaos is helpful in keeping Kaidou occupied. Or... maybe Drake works for Sengoku, though Sengoku isn't the type to let secondhand affection for a pirate color his judgment unless there's some utility to be had as well. But he'll ask Law, rather than assuming, because he knows he doesn't have all of the information he needs to guess accurately.]

I'm sure the World Government hates there being a country not under their complete control.
[HMPH.]

The impression I got was that he saw temporarily allying with the Ninja-Pirate-Mink-Samurai Alliance as the best chance to finally take down Kaido

[Something more direct then general chaos, then, if it's actual teamwork. How interesting. Again, what a shame he can't talk to Sengoku - not that he'd necessarily be allowed to know the details anyway though, if that's someone else's undercover operation. Being family doesn't make him privy to that kind of information, usually, but he still wants to be able to ask.

[Rosi getting a chance to call up Sengoku and Sengoku is just like "I'm retired I don't know shit."]

The ninjas and samurai are from Wano, those who served the previous shogun, Kozuki Oden, before Kaido had him killed. And apparently some of his retainers are minks which is how they became involved.

The samurai you had mentioned. I guess the ninjas make sense alongside that. So, do they do cool ninja things? You must get to see them fight, right?

[He's excited about the minks too, but one thing at a time, and ninjas absolutely must take precedence because they're ninjas. How cool is that??]

[Law stares into space a moment.]

The ninjas were... not entirely what I expected, but I think you could say that of anything you've only read about in books. Still, they can do some incredible things, like making shadow clones.
[Listen he's not going to openly admit he thinks ninjas are cool but he will imply it. Just because he's secretly a big nerd doesn't mean people have to KNOW.]

Ah, I also got to see Stealth Black in action. Apparently Germa 66 are real, after all.
[His tone is level as much as it ever is but there's a sharpness to his eyes as he says this. Even when he was young, he'd been cagey about his love for Sora, Warrior of the Sea, especially with him being a Marine. But it was hard to cloak how he'd always made a point to read it whenever Rosinante had gotten a newspaper in their travels. Even if Germa 66 were the bad guys, it's still cool to see a fictional character come to life.]

[Rosinante gives Law a genuine smile. No need to call Law out, he's allowed to pretend that Rosinante isn't completely and entirely aware of Law's inner fanboy. It's cute. Good for him to have an innocent hobby and think ninjas are cool and not just fixate on rearranging people's body parts.

The Germa comment does make him scratch his head a moment though.]

Really? I know the Germa Kingdom was real a long time ago, but I wouldn't have guessed the characters in the comic were. Is it all of them, or just that one?

[He's not exactly super familiar with the storylines or anything, but he knows the jist. He absolutely read some of those comics himself just to see why Law was so fascinated by them.]

I haven't personally seen the others. However from what I understand of the reports I got from the Straw Hats as to what happened in Totto Land, it seems that they are, yes. Or rather, a real Germa 66 they were based on. For one thing, Black Leg-ya isn't a bad person the way Stealth Black is.

[It's all very fascinating as far as Law is concerned.]

Huh. Well, what do you know. Whoever writes those comics must be pretty familiar with the real thing.

[And isn't that curious. Is someone in what remains of Germa a Marine sympathizer? He'd assumed it was all done for propaganda purposes, even if it's solidly entertaining propaganda, but now he really has to wonder what the story is.]

Did you actually get to meet Stealth Black?

[He's picturing Law trying to contain his inner fan that wants an autograph, and it's very adorable.]

He's one of the members of the Straw Hat pirates and their cook; "Black Leg" Sanji. He disavows any affiliation with Germa, but technically speaking he is the third son of the current leader. Though I met him before anyone knew about this. He was already a force to be reckoned with even before he took on the abilities of Stealth Black. But he really can turn invisible when he does so.

[Just this barely restrained sense of the sentiment "IT WAS SO COOL."]

["Took on the abilities," Law says. How did they work in the comic again? He can't recall - the fights between Sora and the Germa villains stand out better than any of the actual backstory. Knowing it has basis in reality now though makes him want to actually read them through.

Whatever the case may be, Law's attempt at understated enthusiasm is still intense enough to be contagious.]

[Said with the tone of a child exasperatedly trying to explain to their dad that not all Pokemon are named Pikachu.]

He was the most mysterious of them all, because he could turn invisible. Though now I wonder if it's really because Black Leg-ya disavowed his family and thus there weren't any real stories about him to base Stealth Black off of. From what I understand, he only recently obtained the gear that allows him to access those same abilities.

[Ah, all right, then. He nods along at the explanation, and accompanying speculation. Trust Law to not only know the lore but to have fan theories.]

That's got to be handy, having someone like that as one of your allies. An actual superh-... Hero?

[He falters, then decides to stick with it. Germa were villains, but pirates aren't exactly heroes, either. Superpirate? Superperson?]

[Law, getting increasingly exasperated, actually forgos the coms to actually yell out loud because mods can't stop me from assuming Law and Rosi somehow managed to get put in adjacent cells.]

H-Cora-san, you saw the comic, I know you did!! Germa 66 is a name synonymous with evil, they're not the heroes!!
[Everyone else in jail hearing this out of context like: ... what?]

[Oh, two can yell about this. He holds back his laughter long enough to shout:]

Yeah, but you just said he denounced them! And besides, you're not a villain, so your allies aren't either!

[Fine. Fine, he's admitted it, not all pirates are villains. Fine.]

I dunno, sounds like you've done some heroing from time to time, yourself, Trafalgar "Hero" Law.

[Now he's just teasing, this conversation truly has devolved.]

[I mean petty antagonism was one of the key ways they bonded in the first place.]

[He snickers, and doesn't immediately reply. Oh, Law and his image that he's so determined to craft. His protest against any good deeds is easy enough to refute, but Rosinante will let him have it, since it seems like that's important to him. Teasing is fine, but they both have appearances to keep up, don't they?]

So Stealth Black isn't a superhero or a supervillain now, he's just a super-pirate like all the rest of you. Got it.

... He wasn't ever a superhero in the first place, but sure. Fine.

[HMPH.]

The important point is that it was cool.
[Ah Law's forgotten other people can hear him now and revealed his hand.]

I'm sure it was.

[He'll just. Switch back to comms after that. Let that hang there for anyone within earshot. Back over the network, he follows up:]

For what it's worth, I really do appreciate the good things you've done, even if they were for your own reasons.

[There's a long pause as Law realizes he said all of that loud enough for people to hear and he has to stew in the embarrassment for a little bit. But now he's going to be extra sullen.]

Who says I've done any good things.
[DRESSROSA??? LAW???]

[Not scolding, just a gentle reminder. He doesn't quite get the facade, but he's accepted that that's who Law is, and that's fine - it's just not needed when they both know each other better than that, right? Even with the long gap in between, he'd like to think they can be honest. Mostly. ... Okay so he's the one who's been the guiltiest of dishonesty but that was when Law was a dying kid in need of some hope. This is entirely different.]

[Well. Well... Okay, he makes a fair point. Really, there's more he could say. He probably won't, doesn't need to give Cora more ammo, but...]

... Maybe I just don't want you to get any ideas like I'm going to be some big hero here. I'm not... I may be a doctor but I'm also a pirate.
[So he will medical at people but he's not going to do some big dramatically dashing act of bravery and courage.]

I know. You've said that, and I know. I'm not asking you to be anything you don't want to be. Can I still be proud of the things you've done?

[Does he wish that Law was more altruistic? Yes, of course. But he never has been, not when he was a kid, and clearly that hasn't changed. All Rosinante had ever really hoped for him was that Law would learn to follow his own heart and be free to make his own choices, and he's done that. There's maybe a little disappointment at some of those choices, yes, he'll admit that to himself, but at the same time he accepts that Law is who he is.]
