My name is Alucard. I am a new arrival. No, I did not fill up the "form" as I found the criteria to be quite baffling and useless.

I do need to state that I am a half-vampire. Yes, I have fangs. No, I will not bite you. I do not require blood and you can go about your day in peace.

And no, I will not bite you if you have a kink for vampires. Find a sharp fork instead.

It is an unusual hobby. Most fear the mountains. To scale it is to invite death.

I'll give you it's a bit newer in time on the hobby list. Some people like flirting with death. [ she's more amused than she should be. she has in fact died on mountain climbs before! ]

Can I ask what year you're from? Century?

The 1400s. Quite early, compared to most here.

[ wait. she finally realizes she's been speaking in romanian to match him when he tells her when he's from, albeit his version is a little older. ] Romania? [ a pause. ] No, it would have been Wallachia then? I think? Dacia was way before that.

[ that region had so many names over the centuries, okay! and it was close to her own homeland, with it's own many names. her memory is, to put it simply, shit. ]

But yeah, mountain climbing didn't really take off until the 1800s.

[ alucard starts, eyes wide open. ]

You . . . know of Wallachia?

I've been there.

It goes by Romania now.

Then it survived.

[ who would have thought? certainly not alucard. ]

Not without hardships. But the same could be said for a lot of that area.

It is unfortunately an area where hardships congregate.

Still, I knew people who cared. I am relieved for their sake.

We don't have vampires in my version of Earth though, so I can't tell you exactly how similar it might have been.

I forgot longevity sometimes comes with vampires too.

Vampires only die when they're killed.

Since I've inherited most of their physiology, that should hold true for myself.

How old are you now then?

Twenty years. I am rather young.

[oiorpata]

You're not even close to the old part yet.

No. I grew up fast, but I am still considered young.

You'll be young for a while, so enjoy it while you can.

Is it so enjoyable, being young?

I suppose it depends on what those years look like. But you should try.

I cannot say I'm all that eager for it.

Both, I suppose.

I planned to sleep off the centuries. I still might.
